4 1/2 stars

The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is that it had a cliff hanger ending which I really hate. That I really liked the book is the reason I didn't give it 1 star.

Fall from grace.....

When her best friend Rachel is kidnapped, the FBI’s primary suspect is Alexis. Rachel is a senator and hired Alexis as her assistant. Alexis would do anything for Rachel, they’re like sisters! So, why would she hurt Rachel? Bradley is a Navy Seal and is sent home on medical leave. He and Alexis were close and in love in college, but something happened and they were estranged. As her twin, Bradley is determined to find Rachel before she’s murdered. But, he’s also determined to clear Alexis’ name! What secrets does Alexis have - does she know who has Rachel? Can Bradley keep her safe as he looks for Rachel? I love Lisa Phillips’s books and this is one of her best! I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Overall the plot was good.Alexis had taken a fall once and being shunned by people now and it was still costing her, even though she was innocent. When her friend Rachel a senator is kidnapped. Rachel brother Bradley home on leave. Wanting now to find her, even to giving up their inheritance. On the other side he wanted to keep Alexis safe, and clear her name. Continues on in the next book

Spiralling suspense story

This story took off like a rocket and never let up. The details unraveled slowly as the story spiralled around. There were things about the characterization I found unlikely, such as the interaction between Bradley and the FBI as as well as the Double Down operatives. I also found other relationships unlikely but it wasn't a deterrent to enjoying a good suspenseful story. I appreciated the Christian values promoted. Good book.
