A new start. An all too familiar threat.

Burned by the CIA, Lyric Thompson signed on with the Accountant’s Office for the fresh start she needed. Running a resort of vacation cabins—the site of more than one murder—isn’t going exactly to plan, but she wasn’t trained to quit. When a developer puts the pressure on, she has to choose to fight back alone…or accept help from the one man she never let go of. Isaac Amrakov has never been given the chance to plot his own course. When the Accountant’s Office offers him a new life in Benson, he doesn’t know just how much God plans to restore in his life. But the construction crew he’s signed on with are up to something. The man he wants to be would wade in, but Isaac can’t do the right thing and keep Lyric safe at the same time. Not without putting everything he wants in jeopardy. These two trained operatives are in for the fight of their lives. But will they stand together, or let life tear them apart again?

This one will make you think

Hard Target had the thrill of danger and managing life's changes. The story of Isaac and Lyric was filled with the challenges of giving everything over to God. Definitely worth the read!

Great story line

I enjoyed the storyline immensely in this book. But found myself getting lost in the characters head thoughts, and then would get confused as to which character was actually speaking. More conversing between characters less of what they’re thinking and this would be a 5*.

Wonderful book of danger and suspense!

Lyric Thompson has been given a second chance at life through the Accountants group. She has purchased a cabin resort in hopes to acclimate to a normal life after the CIA left her to die in a foreign prison. When a friend disappears she uses her skills to investigate, putting her in the sights of the same people that took her friend. Isaac has also been given a new life after being exonerated of the theft of a nuclear device. He has been hired on as a construction worker but his boss and a few of the men seem to have a side job going on. When he begins investigating as a CI to the FBI, his investigation starts to coincide with Lyric’s. Their past created a divide between them but working closely together renews their feelings. Will they be able to stay alive long enough to find the answers to what is going on around them?

Suspenseful

Lyric and Isaac’s story was very suspenseful. Lyric had to learn to surrender to God and to wait on Him. That is so easy to say, but hard to do. The story also portrays how hard it is to forgive someone who has hurt you terribly, but when you give that to God too, the peace you have is such a blessing. Nice job by the author. I look forward to book 3.
