very good series

I’ve read the first series of the Last Chance County stories, and I’ve just finished the Chevalier series.

I thought the story lines were great and the characters very likable. The one thing I missed the most was descriptions of the characters in much more detail. It was impossible to get any kind of mental picture of the characters with only things like the color of their hair and eyes that they were a certain size.

I would also like to have seen the characters resolve their faith issues which only one or two did. This detracted from the books for me. I will finish the Last Chance stories in the next series, but will evaluate future books more closely.

Wonderful series!!

I don't leave many reviews, but this series had me on the edge of my seat! Couldn't wait to get back to reading! One night I found myself start praying for one of the characters, lol! That's how good it is!!

Good...but Long

I don't know if the book is actually long because I rarely pay attention to the page count. But it sure did feel long. That's not necessarily a bad thing. In this case, there's just a ton of things going on. It was sometimes hard to keep track and some of the scenarios seemed so convoluted as to be unbelievable. But Lisa Phillips does keep a reader guessing about what's going to happen next. This book, as the rest of the series, is clean and heavier on the suspense than the romance. It's a good series and each book can stand alone. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, suspense tale full of adventure, and with a dose of romance.

Great Story!

A twisted whodunnit plot not easily figured out, with a subtle overlay of CLEAN romance. Good adventure. Very enjoyable, as are all the books in this series.
