Three months. One contract. Will it be enough to save a marriage of twenty-eight years?

Walter Winslow thoroughly enjoyed his orderly and predictable life. He left for work at exactly the same time each day, ate the same thing for lunch, and returned home to revel in the comfort of a home-cooked meal and his favorite programming on the telly. Though not particularly thrilling, his life was utterly comfortable. That is, until one day, Wendy--his wife of twenty-eight years--asked for a divorce.

Wendy Winslow had spent her life doing exactly what was expected of her. She got an education, married a sensible man, birthed two lovely boys, raised them to adulthood, moved across the Atlantic to Colorado to be a part of their lives, and then...she had no idea what came next. Somehow, in the child-rearing and homemaking, she'd forgotten everything about herself and then some. Now living in a strange country with a life that felt anything like her own, she desperately needed to rewrite her story...and was fairly sure there was no room for Walter in it.

In a hail-Mary attempt to salvage their marriage, Walter proposes a three-month do-over in what he knew was Wendy's dream location: Paris. With contract in hand, Walter makes the most terrifying leap of his life to chase the woman he thought he'd be with forever. But it may be too little, too late.

Thats life in a nutshell…errr book.

Read this book in a few hours. Couldn’t put it down. Really wanted to know how it ends and I was not disappointed. It reflects on the nature of long term relationships and family keeping it real.

Really unique story.

The book was a bit up and down for me. The book starts with the fact that Wendy has looked after Walter, who is stuck in his ways, mostly without complaint, for 28 years! but one day decides she’s had enough. What I thought really odd, she decides to act by leaving her grocery cart in the middle of the supermarket and walking out! Goes home and when Walter arrives home she throws boxes of his clothes etc out the bedroom window and he “faints?”But I did like that Walter, although totally shocked, because he had no clue, (men!) lol. does want to be better and comes up with the plan of 3 months in Paris (interesting plan, not what you imagine!) There were times I liked Walter a lot more than Wendy who could be quite unreasonable! But I did enjoy the story. It was totally different and I found Walter endearing. The book gave the impression he didn’t get involved in the children’s lives, yet it was obvious he was always overjoyed to hear from his kids. It was him who wanted to follow them to America. What I didn’t get was Walt and Wendy lived in Colorado and the boys lived in CaliforniaWhat I didn’t enjoy was the editing errors, she left her cart in the supermarket, yet later it said when she’d finished unpacking the groceries ! ( I notice stuff like that, and there were several) They were British but followed their sons to the states! One chapter said 9 years ago. One said 15 years ago. Even at 9 years, 28 years married means their eldest son would have been 18! So time lines didn’t make sense. If not for the editing this book would have been an easy 5 stars for me.

Fun, light, but also makes you think

I received an ARC of this book because I'm a fun of the author! I really enjoyed this book. Being at a similar place in life - mostly empty nest, years of marriage - it was a fun read and also made me consider some things I could communicate and consider in my own marriage. I enjoyed hearing both protagonists's points of view and seeing their challenges and personal growths.

Nice escape that leaves you wanting more

I was lucky enough to receive a ARC of Let’s TryThis Again and read it in a single night. The characters are compelling and the lot is just this side of unpredictable enough to keep you wanting more. I do have a few small quibbles, though they are minor.Without spoilers: at least one character suddenly falls off the face of the earth with no closure, there are moments that I really struggled to like Wendy, and the ending didn’t really sit well with me based on where I felt the book was going. There’s definitely room for a sequel. That being said: I suggest this book without hesitation. Sometimes it’s nice to have a bit of an escape and to read something light. It’s clean, unique, and brings both the past and present to life in very vivid ways.3.5/5* Will definitely read again.

Later in life adventures, yes please

I really enjoyed this story. While rooting for Wendy to live out her dreams in Paris (I mean who wouldn't?) I started dreaming about what I would do if the opportunity ever presented itself and where I would go. Wendy and Walter are relatable on so many levels. It was fun to read and follow along with their daily adventures.
