Two Rivals. A Proposed Bet. One Unforgettable Kiss.

I'm just trying to survive. The gelato shop my grandmother left me is struggling and I can't help but feel like a failure for letting things get this bad. When the annual fishing tournament starts up in Magnolia, I'm determined to win.

My plan is perfect, until my rival shows up. Not only is he back in our hometown, but he's set up his fishing gear right next to me.

Despite my efforts to ignore him, I can't help but be roped into his ridiculous proposition. If I win, he'll leave and never come back. And if I lose?

A single kiss.

Bring on the next chapter

I love the closeness of the women and their understanding friendship and who doesn't like a love story with a great beginning with a promise of a great future, can't wait to see where it goes

Just the worst.

I've never written a book review before but I just finished all 9 of the Magnolia books and it was torture reading them. Absolute torture.
Same plot/story line in every single book.
Same character no matter who the focus was on, you couldn't tell who it was because their personalities were exactly the same. For both the men and women.
Overused the words Gaze and Glanced in all varieties. I've never seen those words used to much in my entire life. I looked it up too.
Just for the word Gaze:
#1: 151 times in 281 pages
#2. 68 times in 227 pages
#3. 92 times in 248 pages
#4. 83 times in 174 pages
#5. 99 times in 284 pages
#6. 82 times in 213 pages
#7. 106 times in 168 pages
#8. 114 times in 228 pages
That averages to 1 Gaze every 2.2 pages.
Add in the Glances and in book 8 alone there's 106 of them.
Get this author a thesaurus and editor quick!!! And please get some personality for these grown adults that are in the books. Grown women with careers, home owners, children acting like they're 14 and never interacted with a grown man before. It was gross.
Not a series or author I would recommend ever based on this series. How they're a #1 best seller is baffling to me. There's absolutely no depth to the characters or storyline.
One book was about a wedding that you'll never attend or get details about because it has absolutely nothing to do with a wedding.
Another showcases a character and her fertility struggles throughout the entire storyline but won't get any details on a resolve until the very end, from another characters perspective as a comment about her current life situation. (Trying to avoid spoilers here...you're welcome).
Why even have that in the storyline if you're not going to give us anything about it?!

Horrendous stories. I hate so deeply that money was spent on these books for me to read. Absolute waste.

Save your time and money and just don't read them. Or just read book one and you've read them all.

a change of mind

Enemies to more? Scarlett doesn't really like Ben. He was such a likable guy and the grand gesture made me swoon.

Highly recommend

This series is absolutely amazing, I could picture it as a movie or series. I felt a connection with each character.
