A Reluctant Match. An Undeniable Attraction. A Marriage Neither of Them Wanted… at First.

Christine Grey has no interest in marriage, especially to the brooding bachelor next door—no matter how handsome or wealthy he may be. Content with her quiet life in the Lincolnshire countryside, she prefers the company of her animals to the tiresome games of society. But when an unexpected scandal forces her into a marriage of convenience, Christine finds herself questioning everything she thought she wanted.

Sir Alexander Thorne never intended to wed—at least not so soon. As the new master of Gracefield Park, his focus is on proving himself as a gentleman of worth. But fate has other plans, and after one compromising moment with Christine, honor demands he make her his wife. Though their forced proximity sparks undeniable attraction, Christine is convinced he only married her out of duty. And Alexander? He fears he will never be the husband she truly deserves.

Will their unwanted marriage turn into an unexpected love? Or will fear and pride keep them apart?

Quietly lovely, just like our beautiful Heroine

So good to read an angst free-though not adventure free!-story of probably the most overlooked real life heroines-the gentle ladies who quietly and competently take care of family and friends, and keep such a serene serene facade that sometimes, even those most nourished by them forget to value them as they should be valued. Yay

The carriage wreck

A wonderful story that was entertaining and well done. I loved the story line and the cast of characters. You are a gifted writer, Jennie.

One of the works you do so well is proofing and using proper English. I taught computers in high school and errors just jump off of young writers pages. Keep up the good work!

Strong friendships and strong women

Really enjoyed this tale of love by chance for Christine and Alex. Wonderful to see the community of friends who care for and support each other. A satisfying wrap of an enjoyable series.

Each book surpassed the previous one!

What a delightful series of books. Each one improved upon the last — or maybe I just enjoyed getting to know the characters better with each one. I loved how all the characters were woven into each successive book, and not just a mere mention after “their story” was concluded. Highly recommend
