For mature audiences only

This isn't your typical Amish romance. This story has two or three rape scenes in it, and it is very gritty at times. Lillianna takes a job with a politician and his family, as their nanny, in order to help pay medical expenses for Tommy, who has cancer. The politician rapes her and blackmails her too.I just don't see the point of that in the story. Yes, horrible things like that happen, but clean Christian fiction should be clean, and not something you feel uncomfortable about reading. I liked how the story ended, with the forgiveness of Jesus in the hearts of the people affected most, though, and there were a couple of times the plan of salvation was presented clearly. Those are all good, and what you'd expect in Amish Christian fiction. I'm glad Jennifer did that, and that she presented alternative ideas to traditional cancer therapy.I do not recommend this as appropriate reading for anyone under the age of 21.Romans 10:8-13; John 3:16-21
