Spredemann writes "different" kind of Amish fiction that I definitely recommend checking out

A Secret of the Soul is the sixth book in the Amish Secrets series by J.E.B. Spredemann. J.E.B. Spredemann writes "different" kind of Amish fiction that I definitely recommend checking out! This book won't disappoint!
Elam Zook left the Amish community bitter after his girlfriend Julianna Yoder started going home from Singings with Cletus Stolzfoos instead of him. Elam was devastated. After leaving the Amish community, he never looked back. He adapted to the English way of living very well and eventually started dating. Still, he always wondered what happened to Julianna. His curiosity got the best of him and he decided to find out more information, but was he prepared for what he was going to find out?
This fast paced book will have you on the edge of your seat! There are surprises around every corner! A well written book, J.E.B. Spredemann brings the characters to life in this book. They experience circumstances that we can all relate to including rejection, fear, anger, depression, faith, hope and love. I recommend picking up a copy of this book!

A Must Read

Elam Zook was very much in love with Julianna Yoder and he thought she had the same feelings for him. When she went home after a singing with someone else it hurt him really bad but, when she did it again the next time, it crushed his heart. Elam couldn’t stand by and watch the woman he loved court someone else. Elam left his family, his community and his beloved Julie…his nickname for her.

His cousin Zachariah was already living in the English world with his wife, Rosanna & their children. Elam joined them. Some things he enjoyed in his new life…. electricity, driving a truck and motorcycle. Other parts were hard. He missed his family and, although he tried not to think of her, he missed his Julie very much.

I don’t want to give away too much of Elam and Julianna’s story but I will say that I enjoyed it very much and everyone needs to read it! It’s a beautiful story of a young Amish man finding God when he left his Amish life behind. Because he was sure Julie had moved on and maybe even married, he started dating a young woman from the church. Elam followed God’s direction in every aspect of his life and God healed his broken heart. There is hurt and sadness in this story too but life isn’t lacking of those emotions for any of us at times. Elam truly discovered that with God all things are possible!!

outstanding

Jennifer this was an absolutely amazing book. It was honestly todays world with any denomination. I related to this with my children and grandchildren. This kept my interest till the end. I felt the emotion the chapters was in the book. Happy, sad, lonely, emotional, loving, excited. And I prayed as they prayed. Our God is awesome, and he works in his time. God takes us where we need to be.
5 stars plus. Fantastic book. Great job. God bless. Waiting for the next one.
