Fans of Hallmark movies set in small towns with quirky characters will enjoy this romance between single parents: a plucky heroine and a horse whisperer.

She’s looking for a fresh start.

As a kid, Kathy Harris couldn't wait to get out of remote Harmony Valley. Yet here she is, a single mom, back home, determined to rebuild her life. Having given up on forever love, she only wants to make work and her young son her priority.

But starting over is never easy.

Small towns talk. And increasingly, they're talking about a potential romance between Kathy and Dylan O'Brien, the attractive, enigmatic cowboy and healer of misfit horses. Kathy doesn't have time for romance with Dylan, no matter how much his kisses tempt her to try or how well their two kids get alone.

And believing in love again is even harder.

Get lost in the entire heartwarming series! Each book features quirky characters, plus the humor and heart of USA Today bestselling author Melinda Curtis.

You can start your life over and have good things happen

Kathy is a recovering alcoholic who has come to stay with her brother and sister-in- law after she gets out of the rehab for the second time. She is working for a vet ranch and is not ecstatic about her job but knows she has to work and build herself up before anything else can happen. She has a son who she left with her brother when she went into rehab and he has really pulled away from her wanting to spend the rest of his life with his aunt and uncle. Kathy has all sorts of past problems but her one resolve is to always tell the truth and as she get to know the people around her and in the town it is serving her well. She then meets Dylan who has been brought in to be a horse whisperer for the vet clinic. They have a horse who spooks easily due to an incident and she find out that Dylan has a ranch and also has a horse that was mauled by a lion and is in rehab to.She finds that she loves working with the animals and the vet thinks she would be great at doing this work. Now she is really excited and with the relationship going well with Dylan she thinks life is finally going her way. Not only is he good with the horses but has a way of dealing with her that makes her feel safe talking about her childhood and problems that caused her to drink in the first place.BUT, Dylan has a big secret that he needs to tell her and he is sure that when he does everything will go south for them. Can he find the strength and wisdom to tell her and can she forgive him being deceptive in order for them to have the life they want. This is a wonderful story, easy to read and would be a great end of summer beach read or better yet in front of the fire with your hot coco sitting next to you.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Kathy and Dylan

First I have something I want to say..I have loved each and every single book up to now in this series. Yes there emotional and you might need tissues. In each book they bring us laughter, they bring us tears, but so much more. That’s what Ms. Curtis does in each of her books. It’s ok. She delivers in each of them with the essence of family....Small town tight knit community love for each other. You can’t get better then that.Life is about ups and downs. Life is about funny and tears. Life isn’t perfect. That’s something about these two characters I loved. They both have scars inside, and out too. They found each other in a way that might not by conventional, but nonetheless they found each other. Read on and enjoy the journey with Kathy, Dylan, and everyone in Harmony Valley....Kathy Harris knows she needed help which is why she put her son Truman’s well being first. She takes him to Harmony Valley to stay with her brother Flynn. When she returned she stayed with her brother and his wife Becca. It was hard since her son wasn’t warm towards her. She had a lot of work ahead of he so getting a job at the small animal clinic in town is the first step. There she met Dylan O’Brien who was some kind of healer with horses. He has a way of understanding her. On one occasion he takes her out then drives her back home. She’s wondering how he knew where she lived. That’s when something comes to light, and it’s not good.Dylan doesn’t like the fact he’s lying to Kathy. He has reasons for taking the job, and Kathy’s brother Flynn just wants the best for her. He sees that. But he might be going about things the wrong way. They have something in common besides that they both have sons. He’s got a lot going on. They both have some baggage if you will. He shouldn’t be thinking of starting anything with her. It’s not the right time. But Kathy surprises him one day at the lowest moment of his life. It moves him. He knows there’s more then friendship there.Buy the book and see what happens. So much more to come. It’s an amazing book.
