A cowboy contractor, his ex-wife, and the son he never knew he had…

In this heartwarming tale of love, loss, and redemption, Kate Donnely is forced to face the consequences of her past actions. After keeping her son Reid's existence a secret from his father, Brett Murphy, for seven years, she embarks on a journey to reunite them.

Driving down a dusty road to Three Rivers Ranch, where Brett is rumored to be working, Kate's emotions threaten to overpower her as she struggles to find the courage to tell Brett the truth.

Upon arriving at the ranch, Kate finally comes face-to-face with Brett, the man she had married just before his deployment to Afghanistan. He thought they were divorced.

He was wrong.

As she introduces him to Reid, their vibrant seven-year-old son, she is met with anger and disbelief. Despite his initial shock, Brett refuses to let Kate take their son away, insisting that Reid deserves to have a father in his life.

He convinces Kate to stay in Three Rivers for the summer so they can have a second chance at building the family he didn’t know he had. He still loves her, and he adores being a father—but he has to find a way toward forgiveness.

Oh, and he’s still active in the Army and could be called up at any time.

Will their love be enough to heal the wounds they've inflicted on one another? Or will they allow the bitterness of their past to tear their family apart forever?

Could have been better

I adored the story but im giving it 4 i stead of 5 because it took Brett away from the ranch he loves and the world he loved. Would brett have moved if kate hadnt ran off without talking to him? Not willingly. He approached her about moving and then she said no. He dealt with it confusingly anf suddenly she runs off AGAIN. AND he just so happily followed her.In the real world she could have gotten a job nursing locally to three rivers. They could have lived there and he could have started a branch of his dads business there.... The entire story had her trying to be the prim proper princess and hating the cowboy talk and lying to her son.Her thought of "he'll get over it" was wrong. I understand parents way of thinking but remember when you were a child. You never forgot things that hurt you.

A child will lead them

Book 3 in this series and it also is very good. I enjoy how the author has brought all of these characters together in a meaningful story about real life, love and broken people. The connection between them all is how God is always near if you call on him. He never left these people but they had to be still and listen in order to heal.

Great book nice fast read

This book is a very good story. It has a unique style unfolding the characters past by showing letters and emails that were written but never sent. I liked how this was used to explain the past that was directly relating to the present time. This was a Page Turner. I kept reading late into the night to get it finished!
