Gently bred young ladies don’t run away from home to find employment, but when forced to choose between marrying a brutish oaf or becoming another man’s mistress, Susanna makes an unconventional decision. Following her passion for music, she flees to London with dreams of securing a position as a harpist. Becoming entangled with a handsome violinist who calls himself Kit, but who seems too aristocratic for a working-class musician, may be more problematic than sleeping in the streets.

Kit's attention is captured by Susanna’s breath-taking talent, admirable grace, and winsome smiles…until a lawman exposes the new harpist as a runaway bride and a thief. With peril lurking in the shadows, Susanna’s imminent danger not only forces Kit to choose between his better judgment and his heart, but he must also embrace the life to which he swore he would never return.

What a great satisfying book this is

WOW! What a great satisfying book this is! Donna Hatch has done it again with an outstanding regency story that holds you spellbound and leaves you wanting more. Her characters become friends who you want to know more of and it's hard to see the book end when you'd rather it went on and on. Loved it! Another book that I want to have in hard copy to reread and enjoy over and over. My girls will love it.

Very Nice Regency Romance

Slightly unlikely plot in more ways than one, but Ms Hatch is such an excellent writer that any shortcomings can be overlooked. The characters were well drawn and there was enough going on without padding. The usual misunderstandings that always go on in romances didn't go on too long. The book was just long enough and the villains got a satisfactory comeuppance.

Wonderful ride!

Donna Hatch does it again!!! Heart Stings is a fun read. Susanna Dyer is a penniless waif who is left in the guardianship of relatives who want nothing to do with her. They only want her dowry. Her love of music drives her to London where she seeks employment as a harpist. She meets Kit Anson whose own love of music and a talent for playing the violin puts him in her path. Their unlikely friendship leads them through the seedy side of London and beyond.

You will love watching them make their way through the highs and lows of society. Donna Hatch introduces us to another family we will grow to love. I can't wait for her next work.

Fantastic Story!

All of the characters were lovable. The story moved along pleasantly and never bogged down or got boring. This is the six or seventh book I have read by Donna Hatch. I have really enjoyed all of them. The one thing I would love from this author is an EPILOGUE!!! The stories end abruptly and it would be great to have a peek into their life together.

Binge worthy reading

Donna hatch is a great writer and this book doesn’t disappoint. There is a little bit of everything: rags to riches, action, and a whole lot of romance. It’s a heart warming story you won’t be able to put down.
