A terrorist attack that must be stopped. Two attorneys with everything to lose. Will they have to make the ultimate sacrifice?

Attorney Kenneth King can't wait to get away on vacation and leave the courtroom behind. He only has one last errand to do for his boss―drop off a flash drive to fellow attorney Emma James. But as soon as the drive is in his hands, his boss is murdered and Kenneth becomes the next target. With nowhere left to turn, he reaches out to Emma for help―but that only puts them both in danger.

Emma James just wants to settle into her new job and provide a good life for her little girl. That is all threatened when she gets a flash drive with information on it that points to an imminent terrorist attack on U.S. soil. With her choices dwindling and her vulnerabilities made crystal clear, Emma is pushed to the limit by those who want her dead and the rest of the country to suffer. How far will she be forced to go to save the lives of everyone around her, including those she loves?

Kenneth and Emma have to find a way to work together to stop the terrorists, but it's the most difficult trial of their lives―and the verdict will be life or death.

A nice read

Basically, I liked this story. There were some grammatical errors and punctuation errors and I felt there were some loose ends or incongruities liking having eggs at the indefinitely deserted safe house--were there chickens? Maybe there were bread and bacon in a freezer to round out the meal--I will allow that. There were other details that I didn't "buy" but it was, generally speaking, a good story. The stroll down missionary lane was perhaps too long/detailed where it was. However, I liked the characters. A nice read.

Very recommendable!!

The recipe for this novel is a mix of romance, some mystery, freezing but beautiful surroundings and likable characters, and the result is a very recommendable book. Enjoy! . Enjoy!

Great Chase and suspense!

Mystery, romance- clean, some violence with the chase/pursuitThis was more of a 3.5 for me with the read. I think I was hoping for 'more' characterization, 'more' details? Also, the end kind of came together very quickly for me. I was a little skeptical that 2 people would get engaged so quickly. Regardless, the story still intrigued me. I loved the connections that happened, and the way the chase turned out. The way the evidence unfolded for them with the family connections. The intrigue at the legal office was interesting to see how that unfolded, the preface to the story made me wonder how that would all fit in. There were some fun side characters. Kept me wanting to find out how it would conclude. I loved the 2 hears opening to each other, but again, wasn't totally convinced they would fall so quickly. Still rounded up, because I thought it came together well other than that. I will read more by this author.

A true romantic suspense!

I started reading Julie Coulter Bellon's "Hostage Negotiation Series" a couple of years ago, starting with "All Fall Down". Absolutely loved them. While I'm waiting on the next book in that series, (please tell me there will be another book!) to come out I decided to get my fix of Bellon's talent by going back and reading her "Canadian Spy Series" books. First up is "Through Love's Trials".Kenneth King is a teacher who changes his career because his wrongly charged fiancée commits suicides when her attorney drops the ball on her defense--and he becomes the lawyer that his fiancée should've had. That's all I'm going to tell you about the story. It's sufficient to say that the suspense starts from the very first scene, and keeps building. I was amazed at all the seemingly small details that are scattered in each chapter that impact the lives of Kenneth, and of Emma, the single mother and attorney he becomes involved with. Bellon is an expert of writing suspense, giving out clues close enough together that kept me riveted to my chair. What a great adventure!
