High school teacher Karissa Mead has given up on love. Finding anyone to date in small-town Lincoln is practically impossible---until the town’s newest policeman moves in. Benson Wright is handsome, helpful, and funny, but the universe isn’t content with letting things take their natural course. Throw in Ben's matchmaking grandma with Karissa's students who just want to “help,” then add his ex who can’t seem to let him go, and it's a recipe for disaster. When Karissa gets put in a dangerous situation, however, Ben will have one chance to get her home safely---and show her that love is worth fighting for.

Seriously Sweet Reads
Sweet with some suspense

I enjoyed this sweet romance with some suspense. I thought it was well balanced with the romance and the suspense. I loved being back in the small town of Lincoln again. It was fun to see characters from previous books, but enough context was given that this could be read as a standalone. Sweet read, I'd rate PG for kissing and thematic violence/danger.

the teacher and the soldier

Karissa’s students wanted her to find love and do everything in their power to help her. Their new police officer, ex soldier Ben comes into the school to get to know the community. However there is something going on in the background that is not right. A new student is looking like he is in trouble and Karissa wants to help. In doing so she puts herself in danger . The action mounts up and Ben has someone from his military team to help as they try and track down what has happened to Karissa. A really good read with some truly lovely characters from all age groups. I really enjoyed this story.

Another fabulous book!

This is one of my favorite authors. This book did not disappoint. With the characters and plot that is so descriptive you feel like you are in this adventure with them

.Romance and Intrigue make a great Story

Fun characters. Realistic too. The rural, small town coming up against international nightmares faced everywhere gives the story depth. The love story is both fun and satisfying.

Sweet Romance with Suspense

I was super excited about this book, since Karissa is a teacher, like me. She loves her students, so when they ask her to do a love spell, she went all in. Then Ben walked in. I loved that there was conflict, but it wasn’t too much. Karissa and Ben are adorable and I love how almost everyone was pushing them together. I didn’t love that there was no epilogue. Trigger warning: there is a fire at the school that triggers her, there’s also a kid that goes to the hospital for doing drugs, and there’s a kidnapping and talk of trafficking. Plus a cheating fiancee.
