Two broken hearts. One more chance for love.

After surviving a difficult marriage, Victoria Newel needs a clean slate for herself and her son. Taking a job as a math teacher, she moves across the country to the small town of Lincoln, Utah, where no one knows her and she can start over. However, her new colleague, Drew Dalton, offers her friendship and maybe something more. But has her heart healed enough that she could trust again?

Drew Dalton lost his wife to cancer years ago and he locked his heart away, throwing himself into his teaching job. But when Victoria Newel starts working at the high school, she awakens something in him that he never thought he’d feel again. Her gentle nature and quiet strength draws him to her, but it’s obvious she’s hiding something in her past from him. Can he open his heart to a woman who harbors so many secrets of her own?

"Bellon usually writes action packed international intrigues, but with Love's Broken Road she introduces a tender romance to her readers . . . This story is a second romance between two people who have suffered hurt and loss and are uncertain whether they can risk loving again. Small town second chance

Starting over is never easy, especially in a small town.

Such a good book!

This book explores 2 people’s journey with hard life experiences. Tori lost her husband who was very abuseive and she’s moved across the country with her 5 year old son to make a new start. Jake lost his wife 3 years before to cancer. They had a very loving marriage. They meet teaching high school in the little town of Lincoln, Utah. Will they be able to work out their differences? Really a heartwarming book!

Really enjoyed it.

I love a good second chance story. This is a story of moving on and not living in the past.i really enjoyed the relationship with Tori and Drew. A sweet, clean romance.

Romance with realistic struggles.

I chose to read this book knowing Tori had survived an abusive husband. I like romances that give me a sense of hope. Often it is difficult for an abuse survivor to take a chance again in a romantic relationship. At times I was surprised by Tori getting into a relationship fairly quickly with Drew but I kept in mind she had been in therapy. I understood the relief in her first husband not being able to get to her and not knowing (even the simplest) decisions to make. This would make a difference in her ability to be more confident in taking chances and trusting her judgement based on the truth. From this perspective I found Drew and York's relationship believable including his struggle with guilt over his deceased wife. So kudos to the author for getting this in her writing. I liked the romance not being overly graphic but still touching. I'm glad there's a book 2 with Olivia and Mick (hopefully Karissa too.) I hate second leads being left out. The grammar is quite good and makes for smooth reading something I have criticized in other books (not this author.). I would have liked a brief mention of how Allison is doing. Was she part of the empowerment group? Did she break things off with her boyfriend? I know she's a high school student (and a small character) but I like knowing what happened to her (maybe book 2). It is not easy to include such heavy matters into a romance but this read well with realistic characters who were not overly perfect. I'm giving it 4 1/2 stars.
