I had read every book in this series before I read Charlie's and Josh's story. It was so sweet. Josh had always been crazy about Charlie, but had given up on ever proving to her that he was no longer a player. About the time she decided to let him know she would give him a chance. he found out that he needed to get married to gain custody of his orphaned niece and nephew. He proposed a marriage in name only to Olivia that would only last a year. What ensued was a tangled web of misinformed matchmaking from family and friends of all three-hilarious!

the biggest blunder yet

Best Laid Plans is the third installment of the Best Girls series by Tamie Dearen and is the story of Charlie and Josh.

After two years, Josh gave up on Charlie even though he's still madly in love with her. But now, he needs an insta-wife so that he can adopt his niece and nephew. He asks Olivia, but she doesn't really want to. Charlie is moving to NYC to go to law school, and she's trying hard not to show her feelings for Josh.

We thought the debacle with Anne and Steven was bad. Emily and Spencer was a disaster. Neither has anything on the MASSIVE disconnect between Josh and Charlie. At times, I really felt like the meddling family, who all know the truth of each party's feelings, needed to sit down and give it to them straight. But, of course, they don't, and the miscommunication continues. and continues. and continues.

And yet, the writing is so good and the characters so adorably oblivious that I couldn't stop reading. I just HAD to figure out how they worked it all out, and stayed laughing the whole time!

Spectacular Romantic Comedy!

Charlie is the last Best Girl to find her match, and like her mom Anne and her sister Emily, it takes the efforts of almost everyone she knows to make sure things end well. While Charlie’s happy ending is extremely satisfying, the journey is an emotional roller coaster. Dearen elicits laughter, gasps and even tears. The emotion which she imbues to her characters is enchanting. A great read for anyone looking for a spectacular romantic comedy!

Really captivating book

The characters were so real. A real page-turner. Gram is a trip...lol. Steven is just so humble and wise. I would have preferred Charlie and Josh together earlier. My heart broke for Josh. Great read anyhow.

Great sequel

The third book centers around the younger sister Charlie. Although the story is kinda long with she thought, he thought,it is a well written account of the life of a very private person as far as her sexuality is concerned. The book brings to an end the stories of the mother and her two daughters. It is a very enjoyable four books and I recommend them highly. Great job Ms Dearen.
