Calytrix: Hart Land Book 7 is by Chris Keniston. This continues the story of the nine Hart granddaughters and their search for love and a Happily ever after. The nine granddaughters spend summers together at the lake compound owned by General Hart and his wife. The girls were all as close as sisters and loved coming together at the lake even though it wasn’t as often as they grew older.Callie was one of the granddaughters who stayed in Lawford. She loved it so much that when she finished her college degree, she came to Lawford to teach and coach girls softball. This year she had a fantastic team and could see them going all the way to the top. She was worried about Deidra, her pitcher. Deidra was very good and was scholarship material except for her test scores in math. If she didn’t get a scholarship, her family could not afford to send her to college. Callie wondered it there were some way to get the scouts down to look at her and to get her scores in math up. It was a lot to wish for.Zane Crandall just received a letter telling him his position had been eliminated in his company and he no longer had a job. That was just what he needed. He and one of the other members of the team tossed around the idea of going out on their own together and form their own company. They both left thinking of that as an option. When Zane called his Grandfather that evening and told him about the job, his grandfather suggested Zane join him at Hart Land in a couple of weeks for some down time and time together. Zane took him up on it. Zane later decided to go down a week early and be there whenever his Grandfather arrived. He arrived in the middle of an impromptu football game. He watched a young girl who he later knew was Deidra, throw the ball awesomely. She had some talent. However, the receiver was about to fall over a cooler left in the way so he managed to block her so she wouldn’t get hurt. He just happened to block Callie. This merited a supper invitation and a chance to get to know Callie better. When he walks in, Lucy, the housekeeper and cook, recognized him immediately; but he managed to keep her from telling everything about him. He preferred to be known as a financial analyst. One who just might be able to help Deidra.
