Editorial Reviews

"A fantastic read, perfectly paced and packed with emotion, intrigue, and characters I fell in love with. This twist on time travel is both original and fascinating. Summer Rae felt so real to me, and as brave as she is, it was her sense of humor that I loved most. Everyone needs to read this amazing book!"--James Dashner, author of the NYT bestselling series Maze Runner

Started of slow but got better

Did not like Summer at first. Thought she dumb and impulsive, but she turned out to be a great female lead. Once I got into the story I couldn't put it down. I'm also glad I don't have to wait a year to get a conclusion. That's really starting to get on my nerves. I wish these writers would write books like lord of the rings. Write all the books at once and release one every couple of months.😁

An enjoyable read

I enjoyed this time-travelling / sci-fi / dystopian book.

The storyline was well thought out and the main characters were dimensional.

The book started slowly but I was soon drawn in as it picked up pace and Summer was snatched, by Tag, from the life she knew into the future to 'save mankind'.

The twists and turns kept me reading as I wondered what Summer and her friends would do next and how things would eventually turn out.

The ending seemed a bit rushed but the story was nicely wrapped up.

I received a free ecopy of Death Thieves through Kindle Scout.

Very creative writing

I give this book 4 1/2 stars. It was a little bizarre at first, with Summer being in a car accident, and being taken to the future to restart the human race. There were many twists and turns as she starts a new life in the future. I wasn't sure how much I was going to like it, but like it I did! I especially liked how perfectly it all came together at the end. I only wished there was a little more time spent expanding the ending because it was so positive. This was a really great book, very unique and well thought out. Very imaginative.
I was given a copy of this book to write an honest review.

Good, Clean YA Time Travel/Dystopian Book!

3.5 stars rounding up

The concept for this book is so interesting. It's sort of a mashup of time travel and dystopian with a light smattering of romance thrown in. Actually, the romance is more of an underlying current for most of the book. I voted for this book in the kindle scout program because I have read other books by Julie Wright and was really looking forward to reading a book in this genre by her. I do believe this is her first step into this genre. I got an advance copy of this book when it won and I'm sorry it's taken me this long to get around to reading it! It always feels refreshing to step outside my usual go-to genre to read books like this that I also enjoy.

The book started off a bit slow for me but it picks up and the pacing becomes a bit faster. Maybe it was just that the story really needed Tag. Once he came into the story, everything seemed a bit better. Summer is smart and has spunk but she is also pretty selfish in the beginning. It was hard to really like her. When she starts thinking past just herself, Summer becomes more likable to me as a character. I kind of wish I could have seen more of this story from Tag's point of view. I felt like I was missing out on knowing him better.

It would appear that this book is a stand alone, which is really unusual for this genre. I was actually glad to have resolution at the end. Sometimes it's just a relief to have a book come to a conclusion and not have to wait what seems like forever to have the next book. :)

Content: Some mild violence but clean otherwise
