Some evil isn’t meant to end.

War is inevitable, its outcome unpredictable.

With the Tri-Gard in their grasp and magic returned to the land, Trystan should rejoice in the hope it has brought.

Instead, he finds himself watching his sister let the power consume her. He watches Davion struggle with memories wrought by that same power, twisted and confusing.

And he knows, nothing good comes from magic.

The Dark King has brought his army across the border, gathering magic as they move, and Trystan must march to meet them with his army of farmers and merchants. An army that has not yet learned how to control their new power.

This time, it looks like they’ve lost the war before spilling the first drop of blood.

But the first rule of magic is that it shouldn’t be underestimated, because sometimes, it can have a life of its own.

About the Author

I'm a USA Today Bestselling author of fantasy, contemporary romance, and romantic comedies. Fantasy was my first and forever love with the bestselling "Golden Curse". I love taking old stories and turning them around until they're almost unrecognizable except to the most avid fans. I write books to challenge myself, tackling hard topics or places so different from my own. Studying ancient cultures, architecture, and folklore is one of the best parts of being an author.I've written more than seventy stories full of magic, love, and friendship, and at thirty-three, have no plans to ever stop.

a bit of a twist on the swords and sorcery genre

I enjoyed this series despite a need for proofreading and some editing. It centres around a brother and sister children of a king whose land has lost magic and who have to face a despotic vengeful ruler of the neighbouring powerful kingdom. This tyrant thinks only of himself and will use any means to gain and keep power no matter how despicable

Good conclusion of the series, loved reading this book and the whole legacy of light saga

General description first, I'll announce spoilers below so you can avoid them:

I loved the third book of the series and have devoured it like the other two titles. A well rounded series with a satisfying conclusion of most of the story lines. Following our crew into the final battles for the future of Dreach-Sciene was just as I hoped it to be. Emotional, fast paced, twists and turns. While I'm not 100% happy with the conclusion of the main story of the war, it doesn't take away from how much I loved reading the book.

My only gripe is again the editing. A book with a great story like this deserves a better editor. In 250 pages there were about 20 errors on the grammatical side and some descriptions that did not make sense. Very similar to the 2nd book which had the same issue.

For example: One arm circled her back while his free hand rubbed circles on the exposed skin of her stomach. < while he is kissing her on the lips. It's just not possible to do this in a natural way.

The rest was mainly grammatical issues where it seemed like the editor did not pay enough attention.

*** SPOILERS AHEAD BE WARNED ***

While I loved the story line around Rissa, having Calis sacrifice himself for Davi felt out of character. All of a sudden, the only bad force was made out to be Briggs who before was only a very passive part. Tristan and Alixa was of course predictable but I didn't mind that. Avery's death had me in tears. I loved her character so much but ultimately I love that she died for what she always wanted to protect, the Renaulds. Personally I would've liked Davi and Rissa to actually become king and queen of Dhoun, but relieving them from court also felt what both would have wanted.

Book 3

Book 3 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The plot was predictable, but was fun to read and see how the characters grew. I enjoyed the series overall.

Awesome series - Truly the best Fantasy - Pue Magic

This was such a powerful story. A battle of good and evil, love and hate, strength and weakness , magic and non magic, lust for power versus fight for the oppressed. You can’t have light without dark.
There was so much going on in this book, this series that I can’t quite put into words. It captured your emotions, your imagination, your passion and your heart.
I will so miss all the wonderful characters that were created here to gel into such an epic adventure. I felt all the trials and tribulations that occurred, all the loss but also the compassion.
I was transported to another world which I will revisit from time to time .
I feel all the richer for having read this and can’t recommend it enough.

what would you do to see magic returned to your land?

The end of a fantasy epic! If once magic had given your land everything, the very food to nourish your body, the spirit to feed your soul, what would you do to see magic returned to your land? The future king of such an impoverished land may have to sacrifice everything for his people. Start this great series today!

The evil king of a neighboring realm caused Trystan’s land to lose the magic that sustained it twenty years ago. Prince Trystan and his sister, Rissa, have already lost their father to this battle. Their lost friend has returned to them, though forever changed. Davi grew up in the castle with them, an orphan boy that the king raised as his own. He came back a prince, son of the very king they must defeat in the coming war.

With magic returned to the land, all those born since it was taken must learn to wield their power in defense of their homes. Trystan must raise an army, not just of warriors but of magic users to have any hope of victory. They expect their land to come under attack at any time.

Davi still wrestles with the false memories implanted in his father’s castle. But when he learns that his father intends on killing hundreds of innocent villagers, with his cousin among them, as traitors he can’t sit idle. Though they just escaped the realm, Davi and Rissa gather a small band to return to their enemy’s land to save her. What will happen when Davi comes face to face with his father again? Can he hold his true memories? Or will he succumb and fall under his father’s power once again?

Can Trystan raise an army with enough power to win this war? What sacrifice will be called for? Must he lose everyone he loves to save his people?
