In your wildest nightmares. . .

As the only woman on Terra who had telekinetic powers, Alora was accustomed to hiding her differences. On Earth, she had learned not to trust anyone but her older brother, Jesse. But when Alora's worst dreams come true, she refuses to accept defeat. In spite of reason, logic, and self-doubt, she gambles her future to save the one thing that matters most in her life, and it works.

Or does it?

Her dreams of Terra may finally be a thing of the past, but her life is far from her own. New enemies appear around every corner, and everyone wants something from her. But perhaps the most concerning development of all are the secrets hiding in her own memories. Can Alora hold on to the one person she loves in all the world(s)? Or will the price of saving him become too steep?

Meh

The only reason I forced myself to get to the end of this book was because I enjoyed Book 1, and even then I had to speed up the audio to 1.5x speed to get through this lengthy, meandering drivel, with characters repeating themselves, spending the whole book squabbling, and telling secrets to random people for me reason. The only thing I liked about Book 2 was the cover. The main character, Alora, was a sympathetic character in Book 1 and a completely unlikeable one in Book 2.Having spent Book 1, mooning over Guy 1, she's busy pashing Guy 2 in Book 2 and then rolling her eyes over the guys fighting with each other. This is the worst kind of love triangle, the kind that seems to be there because there is no real tension to any other part of the story. I cringed every time things were meant to be getting romantic. In one part of the story, Alora steals the life of a woman who had been helping her, and claims she would do it again to save her brother. The scene then carried on to a discussion about how many breakfast tacos would be needed to feed everyone (who were still alive). That God it's over. I won't be continuing the series, which is disappointing because Book 1 was good.

Page turner

Bridgets ability to seamlessly integrate lore, history, and wonder into her storytelling is astounding. You can literally feel all the characters emotions and your sucked into their world. I love how Alora has started truly exploring herself, her past, and everything she’s held dear to prepare herself for the future. Truly a must read.

tension

There is definitely a cliff hanger ending, & lots of violence, but the story is fascinating! On to the next book!
