Love’s Bad Luck. He’s the proof. Every time Andra Stone runs into Everett Covington, disaster RSVPs early and stays late. The scholarship she’d worked her butt off for? Lost. The apartment she’s been wanting since forever? Snatched. And just when she thinks things can’t get worse, tragedy steals her grandmother—her anchor, her ride-or-die. Andra decides Everett isn’t just unlucky; he’s a talisman for bad luck.

So when Everett strolls into her hospital applying for her dream job—the one she’s been grinding toward since residency—Andra doesn’t see competition. She sees her very own personal poltergeist.

The human heart might has four chambers—four chances to get it right. Andra has only one chance left.

4th time is the charm

Usually I hate books/movies/tv shows where the main characters make stupid mistakes that just make me cringe. This story is not like that. Andra and Everett clearly love each other, but time after time it just goes wrong. This was a beautiful love story that took over twelve years to finally get a happily ever after.

Well written story

Falling in love three times --- with the same woman, got a little tedious at times. Why did I keep reading? It was part of their story. It wasn't boring, but as a reader we can relate to Miss Pearl's wanting to shake some sense in them. The upbringing of the H and h helped with my patience too. Well done.

Awesome read

I loved this story. I was quickly pulled into the story and into the lives of Sandra and Everett. Their struggles and family relationships throughout the book are sometimes heart wrenching. I loved watching them reconnect every time they met up after being separated for a time. Definitely waiting for Julie's next book.

Witty & Fun

It's not a secret that I'm a fan of Julie Wright's books, and of course I was more than excited to read the next Power of the Matchmaker book. True to Julie's writing, I fell in love with the characters and read this book pretty much straight through. I knew going in that Andra was super stubborn and it would take "four" chances for her to finally listen to her heart. So I was pretty patient with her, although I did want to knock her on the head a few times. I loved the interaction between Andra and Everett and the voice of the story was witty & fun. I loved all the added touches of the Chinese proverbs, and the Swedish one thrown in for good measure :-)
