He had everything—and still walked away. Now he wonders if it’s too late to come back. Edward Dunning once held joy in his hands: a devoted wife, two children, and the kind of peace he didn’t know how to appreciate. So he left—chasing glory on distant battlefields, gambling a life that had already been enough. Years later, presumed dead and broken by war, he returns to the home that mourned him… unsure he belongs there anymore.

She buried her grief—and bloomed in its shadow. Meagan Dunning mourned her husband. And then, quietly, she kept living. For her children. For herself. For the memory of the man she loved. But when Edward reappears—scarred, changed, unsure—she’s forced to confront the ache she thought she’d mastered. He’s no longer the man she married. But somewhere beneath the guilt and silence is someone she still knows. Still wants to know.

Forgiveness isn’t easy. But love rarely is. Edward believes he broke what they had. Meagan believes their love deserves another chance. And slowly, as walls begin to fall and truths begin to surface, they both realize the home they shared wasn’t just a place—it was a promise. A life. A love worth fighting for.

He thought he was too far gone. She believes he’s still the man she chose. And maybe that’s enough.

🪞 If you’ve ever risked something precious—and hoped the one you loved would see past your mistake and choose you anyway… this story is yours.

NOTE: Each love story in this series can be read as a stand-alone. However, most readers prefer to read them in order.

About the Author

Hi, I’m Bree Wolf—a USA Today bestselling author, former academic, and life-long lover of stories. I studied English and Specialized Translation, wandered the halls of universities, spending more years than I should have trying to be reasonable.Eventually, that quiet, persistent voice in my head said: It’s time to write.I’ve since published over fifty historical romances, each one stitched together from pieces of my own heart: doubts, regrets, fears, and messy, hopeful dreams. I love chocolate (especially when chapters get emotional), cry far too easily at my keyboard, and have a deep spiritual bond with cats… which is tragically one-sided, as I’m terribly allergic. A lifelong heartbreak, truly.

Reclaimed Love

A good book about a man disillusioned with himself and the woman who believes in him. It has a good storyline with well written and developed characters. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Meh

Short. Could have been shorter. All I wanted to do was to slap sense into him. Meagan was likeable but I have trouble seeing them together.
