The new world is BROKEN.

Nothing in Ruby’s life has ever been black and white. Even after successfully accomplishing her mission to save Wesley, the danger isn’t past, and neither are the difficult decisions.

Solomon demands Ruby’s return, but the Marked kids need her to stay with them. Their lives might even depend on it. Wesley begs her not to go, but it’s not easy to ignore Solomon. Sam didn’t come with them when they left the island, and ignoring a dictator’s orders always leads to repercussions.

Doing what Wesley asks might make things worse for everyone. No matter what she decides, some people will die. Ruby must decide who she loves the most, and what she’s willing to sacrifice to keep them safe.

Enjoyable read

Story continued at good pace. Liking the new characters. Read it in a day as it didnt want to put it down. The twists in it were pretty shocking. Sometimes some of the medical info is a bit much if you're not an academic as it could be an overflow of information but reading those bits slowly helps

Family is more the blood.

Another gripping storry with a few revelations and surprises. I am really enjoying this series. The love triangle made me think twice initially, but it will resolve itself naturally. Ruby is becoming more capable, and her journey of self-discovery has been painful and tragic, but she has grown so much in the process. Solid friendships made along the way have helped to find her true destiny.

Super Sam for the Win! But wait, Wesley...

I have to remind myself that these are teens. Sometimes the whiny, lack of decisiveness is wearing but the story is solid. Keep going!Suppressed opens with bang! Six of them and it leaves Ruby reeling. It also delves deeper into the religious zealot of WPN and the lives of the Marked. For those of us who have difficulty with overly hormonal indecisive and angsty teens the second installment of The Sins of our Ancestors may be difficult to stomach. But I’m a reader who has to know what happens, so onto book 3 I go. I’m hopeful for a little more maturity from our Ruby.A NICE REFRESHING NOTE IS THAT ALL BRIDGETS BOOKS ARE CLEAN. No need to sensor the audio books for young ears or worry about your tween picking up and flipping to an age inappropriate page.

A blood-borne virus requires a blood-born cure, but can Ruby survive saving everyone else?

I was really excited to read this second book in the Sins of Our Ancestors trilogy. Ruby barely escapes from Galveston and joins up with the Marked to try to develop a cure. Unfortunately her escape comes at a high cost. The loss of someone important and the loss of her father's last journal, which holds the key to developing the cure. I was delighted to see that the Marked have a major base in my home city of Baton Rouge in this book. I knew exactly where they were and it was easy to picture the setting changed to a post-apocalyptic one.Wesley plays a much bigger role this time around and I like him quite a lot, and there ended up being a few parts involving Wesley that I thought were amusing. I can't say that I like him as much as Sam, but I like him in a different way, and it was fun to read and see the differences in the two characters and the strengths they each bring individually to the story, and how they each have helped Ruby through this. That being said, the love triangle is still a negative for me in this book. It didn't bother me in the last book, but unfortunately this time around it became a bit of an annoyance. Ruby ends up a bit conflicted about her feelings here. I like ruby but this did cause me to have some conflicting feelings about her, but at the same time she is a teenage girl who never had a romantic relationship in her life before, so I can see that perspective of it as well. On a positive note - I was extremely happy when she realized she shouldn't be blaming herself for so many things that weren't her fault, but it did take a long while for her to get there. The book ends with Ruby left in a situation that she is not happy about, but it's not a cliffhanger at all. Although I didn't like this one quite as much as the first book, I thought it was still very good. I'm looking forward to reading the final book in the trilogy, and I'll definitely be looking for more from this author in the future. Thanks to the author for proving me with an ARC of this book.
