Did I read the same book as everyone else? Before I decide to buy a book, I read the reviews and noted this one didn't have any low ratings. So how can my opinion be so different? The best thing about this book is the summary, which sounded intriguing; unfortunately, the characters are simplistic, the dialogue stilted, and the situations contrived.

Immature, inta love.

Not sure what all the great reviews are about, wondering if we read the same book. Some of my issues with this story that annoyed me as I was reading. She ran away from her wedding because "The thought of him makes me ill" Why on earth would you agree to marry him in the first place? In fact, if you feel like that why are you even dating him? Then in the pool with the H (best man) the day after her non-happening wedding, she climbs up on his shoulders and then they all play freeze tag and laugh about checking each other out. They seem to act more like teenagers than adults. The pacing and some of the writing seems clunky, like when they laugh it literally say "Ho ho"Also what type of place allows tourist close enough to a volcano that liquid lava bubbles up and sprays bits around the area they are walking and melts the base of their shoes? WTH.I also didn't like how the H, Wyatt seemed to be stringing both the h, Carisa along while also encouraging a female business client. Having shown an interest in the h he should have quickly put the breaks on the other. Sure he hadn't made a commitment which he used as his excuse, but you don't send interested signals to two women at the same time. Made worse because he is shown as a real gentleman for more than half the book. Then the ruse of them pretending to be married gets busted in front of the client who storms off. Literally, the next morning the h is telling him that she is falling for him and he is kissing her passionately. Does this girl have no self-respect? It was only the night before that he told the client that he was free and single and dancing with her very closely. Sure feels like cheating to me. I had rated this 3 stars up until this. Then of course, her ex walks back in and the man who made her 'ill' she now goes off on a sunset cruise with saying she is genuinely happy to spend time with him. Not that she knows the full extent of his cheating since 'dear' Wyatt only really hinted at it instead of telling her straight like she deserved. At least Heath came clean about his cheating near the end. Then apparently they are in love. Given that it was only a day or two at the most that he was saying he was fancy-free and thinking about the client in less than a platonic way this is VERY far fetched insta love. It would have felt more believable if he had sent a clear signal to the client that he was not at all interested. You are not interested in someone else the day before you say I you love another woman.Disappointed, I wanted to like this more.

Wow

What an interesting way to start a relationship with someone new?! A real gutsy move. Glad she made the right decision. A nice clean and HEA ending.

It’s fairly good but I’m glad I didn’t pay for it’

It’s a fairly good book. Wyatt is a really great guy...until later. Actually, I was less impressed with him & his honor & integrity as the story progressed. Carisa has finally come to her senses ON her wedding day. She was annoying , especially near the end, when she kept calling herself emotionally unstable and a basket case. Neither of them were very deep characters. I liked some of their conversations, but the “Ho, Ho” for laughter annoyed me, as did the MMM for a sound of contentment. The *style* of how they talked is how many of us really talk; hopefully, our content is of higher quality, however! The immediacy of their physical contact made me wonder if it were going to have sex depicted on the page. But it didn’t go further than passionate kissing and a mostly undressed scene that was not exactly sexual in nature. The many punctuation & spelling errors were pretty distracting. The book needs a good proof-editor!I would rate it 3.5 stars, except that the mechanics errors dropped it half a point for me.Coffee & Rural Reader both had good analysis. Coffee’s review has some spoilers/semi- spoilers, so be careful if you don’t want those ahead of time. I agreed with their reviews overall & don’t want to repeat the message!Thank goodness it was free.
