Her letters revealed everything but the thing he most needs—her name.

Samuel Harding has a flair for fashion, a talent for flirtation, and a reputation as Harewood's most charming dandy. But beneath the cravats and clever repartee lies a heart recently bruised from watching the woman he loved marry his cousin. With his pride wounded and his faith in love faltering, Samuel has found unexpected solace in a series of anonymous letters—witty, wistful, and altogether unlike anything his well-ordered world has ever offered.

Marguerite Perreau, a French modiste with a painful past, has built a quiet life in England, far from the chaos she once fled. But when haunting mementos begin to appear—tokens only someone from her former life could have—her peace begins to unravel. Her only solace lies in the anonymous correspondence with a stranger she never meant to reach… a stranger who is, in fact, the very man she cannot afford to fall for.

What began as a curiosity becomes a refuge, and the more they write, the more they fall. But as danger creeps closer and secrets begin to surface, a group of loyal friends must band together to unravel a mystery that binds past to present—and may hold the key to both their futures.

Book four in the Hearts of Harewood series, A Secret Correspondence is a clean Regency romance with secrets, mystery, and finding joy where it's least expected.

Samuel 😍

“Together, we could withstand anything. I want to do so with you. I want to be your steady companion, to be the reason you never feel lonely again, ? . I shall be your greatest friend if you will allow me to be your husband.”This amazing series finale of friends of the heart to more is filled with suspense, mystery, friendship, and romance. If you haven’t already read the series I highly recommend it.Samuel! I have loved him in the previous books and I was so happy to read his story and to discover who his Secret Correspondent was! Samuel is charming, kind, and protective. I loved his wit and tenderness. The FMC (I must keep the secret!) is brave, independent, and kind. I loved learning how the correspondence came about. I enjoyed the glimpses of their letters. I loved seeing how Samuel had fallen for her without ever having met or spoken to her. I loved that they each found exactly what they needed in the other. I have to admit at one point I was yelling, “No Samuel! Stop talking!” I was very nervous about his happily ever after and I couldn’t see the clear path towards it. I really loved the way Samuel and his cousins rallied around their friend to help them discover the source of the threat and danger.A few more quotes:“Though, if I may defend myself, I dress very much for my own pleasure and not for others’. There is a distinction.”“I do believe love has a power greater than all the pride and difficulties in this world.”“You are wearing a rather large smile,” Samuel said, his voice amused. “I surely hope this means you are thinking of me.” “In a sense, I was.” “Only in a sense? Drat. What do I need to do to take up all your senses?” “Well, that would be dangerous. I would prefer you kept most of your attention on the horses.”

Loved It!

All of the books in this series were great but I think this one was the best. It is a page turner with a great suspenseful story, and very well written.

Mystery, Friendship, and Hearts Coming Together

I felt like I was readingba BBC mystery drama in the regency era. The use of letters to.correspond was an interesting touch, and this whole series is a bit unconventional, but I did truly enjoy this story.
