She only meant to confront her father’s biggest problem.

She never expected him to be the man she’s been quietly running with before sunrise.

Lily Tenner would do anything to help her dad—including tracking down the coworker he can’t stand and demanding the man quit. But when she storms into the Alvin High gym ready for a fight, she’s stunned to discover the “enemy” is Patrick O’Conner… the calm, sweet neighbor who once caught her on black ice and has unknowingly become the best part of her mornings.

Patrick’s used to being misunderstood, but Lily sees past his intimidating build to the kind-hearted protector he truly is. And when she chases him into the mountains—determined to finish what she started—they end up snowed in at an abandoned cabin, talking for the first time like what they say actually matters. That’s when Patrick learns about the creep at her job. And that’s when he makes a risky offer: fake date him until the problem disappears.

It’s supposed to be simple… until one almost kiss on St. Patrick’s Day makes their “fake” romance feel dangerously real. Keeping their feelings hidden from her stubborn father might be impossible.

And falling for the man she was never supposed to want could cost them both more than they’re ready to risk.

A Clean, swoony small-town romance about two people's hearts and what they are willing to do to make their dreams come true.

A heartwarming new entry in a sweet series

The Teachers of Alvin High has been a sweet series and this book is my favorite one of the series. Patrick is an interesting character in a tough situation in his work life. His good manners and desire to help others, especially Lily, are very endearing. I recommend this heart-warming book and the entire series.

When the old coach hates the new one

Coach Tenner hated Patrick because he thought he was being shut out. Patrick tried to stay away from him, but the principal said they had to work together. That was bad. When Patrick found out that Lily was Tenner's daughter, things got worse. They hid it well, but when they finally found out that Patrick and Lily were together... It is a really good story, and one I hope you read!

Fun mix of tropes

The whole star-crossed lovers mixed with fake relationship was FUN. I am always happy to return to Alvin High, and I have been rooting for Patrick for a while. Lily is a great match for him. I definitely recommend this one!

Another Charming Love Story by Cassandra Shiels

I’ve read four of the Teachers of Alvin High series books, and they’re all terrific reads. Ms. Shiels knows how to craft a sweet romance that leaves her readers feeling warm and fuzzy. I’m a big fan and look forward to everything she writes. Read this book!
