An Almost Kiss on St. Patrick's
But what if a fake forbidden romance is the only way?
I just found out my running partner is my worst enemy’s daughter. Now I don’t know what to do. What to think. If Coach Tenner finds out I’ve been running with his daughter every morning, a woman who, up to now, I only thought of as my athletic neighbor, I’m worse than dead meat. I was ready to walk away and never see her again, but we got stuck in a snow-covered cabin for the night, and now I find out that not only is she the old cranky coach’s daughter, but she’s having issues with unwanted attention from a guy at work. Not one to turn my nose up at a damsel in distress, I want to help her. That's when an unconventional idea sparks. What if we faked a romantic relationship to deter her boss's unwanted attention? We’d keep it as low-key as possible so her father didn’t find out even though we worked together at Alvin High School. Despite the potential consequences, we decide to give the fake relationship a try. I can only hope that the guy pursuing her will back off after he sees she’s not available before her family finds out about us. With boundaries firmly set, I know that she’s off limits, but my heart isn’t receiving the memo.
