She has the guy, the ring. Now, all she needs is a wedding date, the one thing her fiancé won't give her.

I can’t have a crush on the man helping me with my Fourth of July booth. I’m engaged, after all. The Fourth of July party in the park is my best chance to spread the word about my matchmaking business. However, the only way I can take part is to run a complicated kid’s photo booth. I work with adults who want to find love, not kids. At a total loss of what to do, I ran to my teacher friend Melissa for help, and instead of helping me herself, she sent me Drake, the High School Drama teacher. My fiancé won’t help me, and my best friend can’t help me, so I accept the only helping hand I have, his. At least he’s used to working with kids and putting on a show. Now, if only he'd keep working on the event and not point out so-called issues with my engagement. Just because his past relationship failed so badly doesn’t mean mine will. But the more we work together, the more I see Drake putting me first on his to-do list, making me laugh, and helping me fight for my dreams. I refuse to have feelings for another guy when I’m already engaged. I’m not a cheater or a relationship deserter. I have my happily ever after all figured out. I’m a professional matchmaker, after all, and I’d found my perfect match…right?

Editorial Reviews

"I like their dynamic- they have great chemistry right off the bat" -ML-

"A thoroughly delightful book. The reader watches the adventures and misadventures of a high school drama teacher, a feisty creator of a matchmaking service, and her obnoxious fiancé. I just couldn’t wait to see her dump the creep and latch onto our hero." -Nanabear-

"I loved that I could identify with Prissy even though we don't have much in common on the surface. And I hated her fiance so much I want to sing bad country breakup songs at him. Drake is cute and adorable, and I love how he respects her and gives her space, and is so careful about giving suggestions instead of being forceful." -Christie Powell-

I absolutely LOVED it!!

I love this Holiday high school teacher series. It's adorable and clean and funny and all the good things.- Drake and Prissy- Michael is a dumdum- Mr January of Lumberjacks 👌😂- I like their dynamic- they have great chemistry right off the bat- conversation while building the backdrops- a little conflicting for me because she engaged but, come on, Drake. 😍- the play. I love plays.- I'm having to take breaks during this book because I'm so invested- razzleberry. I can't. It's so adorable.- 5 stars plus!!- so so so sweet

Razzleberries all around

A thoroughly delightful book. The reader watches the adventures and misadventures of a high school drama teacher, a feisty creator of a matchmaking service, and her obnoxious fiancé. I just couldn’t wait to see her dump the creep and latch onto our hero. The characters are well developed and it’s a fun read.

Such a cute book!

I loved that I could identify with Prissy even though we don't have much in common on the surface. And I hated her fiance so much I want to sing bad country breakup songs at him. Drake is cute and adorable, and I love how he respects her and gives her space, and is so careful about giving suggestions instead of being forceful. This is a really fun read, you should check it out!

Short, sweet romance

I’ve read three books in the Alvin High series, and although I’ve enjoyed them all, this particular story wrapped up a bit too quickly for me. I liked the teacher connection of this series and the dating app carryover from the Valentine’s book. I also appreciated the fast pace since I’m always trying to get more things done.
However, Michael seemed too one dimensional. Why was he always busy (even at night) and what WAS he doing on the Fourth of July? Working? I would’ve liked more character development. Plus, since there were references to Michael’s mother’s expectations for the wedding, I kept waiting for some sort of show down between Prissy and her future mother-in-law over the wedding plans. Overall, this was a good story, but it could’ve had more depth.

Fun and sweet romance

I met Prissy before in the valentines book. She runs a matchmaking business. I loved her in this book. She is so full of life. She has drive but is also kind. I was a bit frustrated to how blind she was to what a jerk Micheal is. Drake is awesome. This is a fun and sweet romance.
