A sweet Christmas story

A low angst romance that depicts the “courtship” of two well intended young people who first meet on their wedding day. Their growing attraction is woven with their insertion into a new community. It is tender, loving and compassionate. It was a delightful read. But then, it’s Sally Britton, right?

sweet Christmas romance

This is a warm sweet Christmas romance. Tad and Felicity were matched in a matter of convenience. I enjoyed reading how their love grew. This story leaves you with a fuzzy warm feeling.

So cute!

I loved this cute Regency read about a couple who got to know each other within an arranged marriage and learnt to love one another. Both of them suffered from severe imposter syndrome but as they learnt to love one another they also learnt to have confidence in themselves. It was a quick, adorable read featuring a magical painting, fantastic character growth and a wonderful village I would like to live in. Another Sally win!

Cosy yuletide Regency novella

Mistletoe for Felicity is a clean-cut, gentle yule-tide Regency romance that follows the story of Lady Felicity and Theodore, 'Tad', as they adjust to newly married life together, following an arranged marriage. The story is simple but filled with festive good cheer, with a wholesome feel. It charts both Felicity's and Tad's unspoken worries and hopes for their marriage, and follows the couple as they grow closer together. The village near Felicity and Tad's new home is also charmingly brought to life, as the couple try to forge connections with their new neighbors.Whilst the story is very sweet, I will say that there simply never felt like there was any tension or conflict in the story, with everything just a little too sappy. Both Felicity and Tad's private insecurities and worries about their relationship are repeated to the reader chapter after chapter, making the story repetitive, and yet without any real challenges for them. Whilst it was sweet to watch them get to know each other and deepen their connection, it was painted a little too saccharine for my own taste, and there really didn't seem to be much in the way of plot, but rather just following their day to day activities.Overall, I was left rather underwhelmed. Whilst this is certainly a cosy little festive read, I have read far more engaging novellas in the genre, for instance A Holiday by Gaslight by Mimi Matthews.

Christmas magic

This book was Christmas magic. It is magical and delightful. Get ready to curl up with a cup of cocoa and be transported to a different time and place.Felicity has just lost her grandmother and is set up with an arranged marriage with Theodore (Tad). She is going to be positive and hope for the best. Tad is extremely nervous because he believes he married a lovely wife who is a station above him. Can they be confident together and make this marriage work, maybe with a little Christmas magic thrown in the mix?Cozy and lovely are the words that I would use to describe this Christmas story. The imagery is vivid and wonderful throughout the entire story. I feel like I am in the snow by the icy pond and enjoying every minute of it. I love Tad and Felicity and their delicate balance between each other and the growth that happens in their marriage throughout the book. One of my favorite quotes: (by Tad)“It sounds to me as though the gentlemen who were aware of you were foolish, selfish creatures. Anyone who met you would know you at once for the treasure you are.”I was given an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to the author!
