A cranky cop who's sworn off relationships, an event planner who invented a fake boyfriend, and the over-the-top family that thinks it's love.

When Ripley fabricates a boyfriend to put off her family's overzealous matchmaking efforts, she never thought it would go so far. But when she gets pulled over for speeding, the police officer gets caught up in her fake boyfriend scheme.

Cash has good reasons for swearing off the holidays and relationships. But his plans to spend Christmas alone are thwarted when he's mistaken for an event planner he secretly admired from afar. The time spent with Ripley and her family starts to thaw his frozen heart.

Sticking a control freak with a total Scrooge should be a recipe for a Christmas disaster. But somehow, their warring personalities light up the right kind of sparks.

What will happen when Christmas ends, and it's time to stop pretending?

Sandover Beach Christmas is a sweet romance with light Christian themes. All books in the series connect, but can be read as standalones!

(4.5 stars) - Another solid installment to an excellent series

This is book 3 (or 4 if you started with Sandover Beach Billionaire as I did) in one of my favorite series. I loved getting to see and catch up with all the previous Sandover book characters BUT don't worry if you haven't, this works just fine as a standalone, too.It starts out with an awkward/funny meet cute that that gets funnier & cuter as the story progresses. The encounters & dialogue between Ripley & Cash are so entertaining. It seems to be following the classic fake boyfriend trope - till it's not. And there are several moments where it could have taken a stereotypical, melodramatic turn but doesn't. It made it feel so much more real, but I also really get a kick out of it when authors play with romance clichés like that.Ripley's family is both cringey & endearing which really helps nail down that holiday spirit, lol. This is a full scale Christmassy happily-ever-after!*Clean romance level: passionate kisses, some very mildly bawdy humor*Religion: overtly Christian, a main character struggles with his relationship with God & the need to forgive those who have seriously wronged him; fits in the story naturally & organically, not stilted or preachy

So sweet and so funny!

I loved this book so much! Not only because of the amazing chemistry between the characters, Ripley and Cash, but because it was laugh out loud funny! I laughed so hard I snorted--and let me tell you, that doesn't happen very often. Ripley's family is kinda like the family from While You Were Sleeping... times 10!! Oh my gosh, so funny! This is one of the best romantic comedies I've read in a long time. All the feel good romance and swoony kisses are there as well, and it's all bundled together for the perfect Christmas holiday book. This is a 100% clean romance: no swearing and no sex.

Great story

I enjoyed this funny yet deep story of the unusual relationship between Ridley, an event planner, and Cash, a policeman who gave her a speeding ticket. There was an unexpected twist that added drama to the relationship. I can imagine what the startling revelation would do to the betrayed person. Interesting!
