A billionaire cowboy. A hidden fortune. An attorney with a longtime crush. Sprinkle in some Christmas magic and let the fun begin. Texas rancher Josh Tomlinson never wanted fame or fortune, but overnight his family’s lottery win makes them billionaires; and strangers to one another. When he turns to family friend and sharp new attorney Carly Garza for help, he’s stunned. The tomboy he once knew is now a gorgeous, no-nonsense lawyer… and completely off-limits. Carly has loved Josh forever, but she knows better than to blur the lines. Especially now that he’s both her client and the town’s newest billionaire. Still, every glance and stolen moment pulls her closer, and resisting him feels impossible. But keeping the Tomlinson fortune a secret is hard enough. Hiding a Christmas romance with her longtime crush? That just might take a holiday miracle.

Confusing title…

…at no point were they ever snowed in anywhere! But it was a nice story.

Romance

I enjoyed the book and thought it was well written with great characters. I was a little confused as the two main characters were never snowed in at all.

Romance with unusual challenges for the leads

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.“He was still looking at her, that solemn, steady gaze that did something to her insides, even when she couldn’t read his expression.” Kris Bock, quote from ARC.3.5 stars.A romantic story with unusual challenges for the main characters, “The Billionaire Cowboy’s Christmas”, by Kris Bock (Tule Publishing), is about people finally admitting and exploring a long time crush and attraction and confronting fears and obstacles.I really liked both Josh and Carly, they seemed so down-to-earth, realistic characters, to whom it was easy to relate to.Josh’s work ethic and dedication to his family, turning sometimes to an excessive need of control, is written so well. I liked that he’s so serious and level-headed and how his brothers joke with him about it, but he’s also a sweet person.Carly is a great heroine, too. Her decision about her career and going back to Last Strand, although not devoid of risks, made sense and gave the character depth.I liked how the author developed the mutual secret crush they’d been harboring. There were moments so cute with Josh’s embarrassment and blushing or the secret pleasure they take in just seeing each other. The way they admit their feelings, the openness and honesty, are refreshing, too. It was all natural and organic, even speaking about the big elephant in the room.I also liked the unusual theme of the lottery win and the problems it created along with the obvious benefits. Dealing with such personal and familial changes while falling in love presents a few major challenges.I liked the four brothers and their mother relationship and how the author wrote the advantages and disadvantages of living in a small-town.
