A widowed park ranger, her twelve-year-old son, and the Chief of Police who's secretly kept an eye on both of them...

Janey Germaine is tired of entertaining tourists in Olympic National Park all day and trying to keep her twelve-year-old son occupied at night. When long-time friend and the Chief of Police, Adam Herrin, offers to take the boy on a ride-along one fall evening, Janey starts to see him in a different light.

Adam has had a crush on Janey since college. But she married his best friend and started a family before her husband died in a tragic accident. Since then, he's been hiding his feelings and biding his time because of Jess, Janey's son. But as he and the boy spend more time together, he wonders if maybe they're all finally ready to move on...including Janey.

He figures if he just keeps stopping in on them, she might finally start to see him too. Do Adam and Janey have the courage to take their relationship out of the friend zone?

Serendipity Provides a Second Chance!

Humans are a complex species who sometimes get second chances to do what Fear prevented us from acting upon the first time action was needed! This second book in a series documents that reality of serendipity in human affairs, provided by a universe that seems generous, even though we are taught differently. When your heart calls, it usually has more behind that call than we ever appreciate; but friends can prove supportive even when Fear still tries to keep us from doing what needs to get done! Ponder on your own life's serendipitous happenings! Then Act in Love!

Nice but not as good as the first one

I bought this book on the strength of the first in the series The Day He Left Town. Sadly, for me, this second book did not hit the mark so well. I do like Elana Johnson's work and will probably read more but The Day He Stopped In was a disappointment. Sorry.

Fun, light romance

Sweet romance between two people who have basically known each other their entire lives. She chose to marry his best friend and he has continued to love and watch out for her and her son since the death of her husband, just as he promised he would. Is there a chance that he can win her love now after so many years? There is one thing about ongoing book series that bug me, and that's when the author changes the names of continuing charactrs from book to book. It seems to me that the author would be more careful with the details, especially with something as basic as characters' names. (Is Daisy\Dixie)
