Sheryl Heartwood loves everything to do with plants, flowers, and trees. She tends to the grounds around The Heartwood Inn, and she's content with the beach-side life she's always known.

But she's not very happy about the ex-boyfriend who keeps showing up on her front step, following her around the expansive grounds at the inn, and scaring her.

So she hires Gage Sanders to be her "boyfriend" to keep the other man away. The lines become blurred on the very first day, when she kisses him, which is so unlike Sheryl. As she and Gage spend more time together, she learns about the rough-around-the-edges man while showing him how to truly appreciate the beaches in the cove.

Gage took the job, because he needed the money. A retired military man, he's been doing security work on the ferry, so pal-ing around with a beautiful woman shouldn't be too hard.

Until his heart is on the line.

When their agreement ends, can Sheryl and Gage keep their relationship going?

Bodyguard, Not Boyfriend

Sweet , funny and romantic. Opposites do attract. Sheryl had a stalker problem. Hiring Gage to be her bodyguard she felt the attraction but he barked orders, corrected her. Definitely not boyfriend material. Or was he.

Bodyguard/Boyfriend

This is a good story with many twists and turns that keeps you reading. The characters were complex and stubborn or insecure which was confusing at times.

Sheryl and Gage.....great ! !

This book was really good.....I'm so glad that Sheryl and Gage kept working on their relationship .....at times there was sadness and sometimes hard feelings, but they were able to make it work.....and that leads to happiness for everyone concerned.....I'd like to read stories about Gage's Marine buddies, too......they seemed to be a hoot and really funny ! ! !

Relationships can be hard

Gage, the ex-marine has some definite hang ups. He’s confident in most aspects of his life. But certainly not relationships, flirting, and women.Sheryl has a hard time trusting herself and her feelings. As they try to make a relationship work, they both make a lot of mistakes. I love that they learned to accept each other’s imperfections. And were able to forgive each other’s mistakes. Nobody will ever find the perfect partner. It’s great when the characters can accept that and love each other anyway to make their relationship great,
