A ranch they didn't expect to love. A family they didn't expect to find.

Donna Ellingson started on the wrong side of things, but she’s eager to rectify past mistakes. But when helping one widow harms the other, none of the choices she’s presented with are clear.

Another great story by B.E.Baker!

Amanda is an influencer and Abby is a lawyer. The only thing they really have in common is that they married brothers, and those brothers died young, leaving Amanda with two kids to provide for and Abby five! When they discover that their husbands uncle has died and left a large ranch in Utah to their children, provided they move there for a year and actually run the ranch, they initially reject the idea. With a little persuasion from Abby's kids and Amanda's employer, they change their minds and move to the ranch near Manila, a tiny town of about 350 people.Life is challenging with so much to learn, but along the way, they learn more about each other and what they really want out of life. I laughed. I cried. I loved it! This book is the first in a series.

Wow.

I'm old school and the mix of genre's from movies I've seen over the years came through rather strong while reading his. The quaint charm of Little House on the Paraire, some of the male characters for sure. The cheek and calm wit of Gilmore girls shone through as well as mentioned in the book.I"m so used to fantasy and slow burn and everything other worldly that this was refreshing. If you are one of those folk who can visualise while someone is telling you a tale then jump on in. It's an epic read. I have neglected much whilst reading this and not an ounce of guilt to show for it.

warm-hearted family story

I loved this book. The idea of families inheriting a house/business/ranch is not new, but in this case it works really well. I loved the two families, with their kids and their back-story… and as for Horse Doc Steve - who would not want him in their corner! I liked the fact that in spite of some sexual “sparks”, there were no steamy bedroom scenes. The dialogue is fresh and authentic, the characters believable, and the plot was good. Ultimately, the book is about life, and choices; do we stick to the expected path laid out for us, or do we “take the road less-travelled”? A highly recommended warm-hearted read. I’m looking forward to reading the sequels!
