Will Martha and Jaden get a shot at love, or is their relationship doomed to end before even begins?

At the age of thirty-one, Martha Miller’s chances of finding a life mate are basically nil in her Amish community. That is, until she reunites with her one-time friend, bachelor Jaden Beachy, at her niece’s wedding. Maybe Der Herr hasn’t forgotten about her status as a single woman after all. Although they agree to exchange letters after the wedding, he remains emotionally aloof, and Martha is determined to find out why.

Jaden Beachy didn't expect to see Martha Miller ever again after her family moved away to Indiana when the two of them were just scholars. Even at the tender age of eight, Jaden had been attracted to kind Martha. But Jaden carries a deep secret that he’s never shared with anybody—a secret that could send Martha fleeing to the hills.

When Jaden’s older brother Josiah informs him that their school is in need of a teacher, and invites him to come stay with him in Indiana, Jaden takes a leap of faith. Perhaps moving away can help him forget about his past failures. But living in the next district over from Martha’s, along with their close family ties, will guarantee they’ll run into each other. Especially since Martha teaches at the school in her Amish community.

Will Jaden dare share his secret with Martha? Or should he sever their relationship as soon as possible to save her from inevitable heartbreak?

Another great book.

I love this series, it gives inspiration and scriptures from the Bible that you can use in your everyday life. We all have struggles that test our Faith and reminds us all we need to do is trust in God, He will get us through.

Is everything forgivable?

Is there any sin that God cannot forgive? That is the question that is asked in my opinion. This book shows that God knows and loves each one of us and is ready to reach us where we are.We are back in a familiar place with characters we have already met in previous books, tho it is a stand alone book. If you have read the previous books, you just know more of the back stories. This book shows that God can make our short comings work his will, even if it is not his perfect will.

Another excellent J.E.B. Spreademann book

The story line in The Teacher was so surprising. I often seem to anticipate the direction a story is going to take, but certainly did not do that in this book with Jaden or the situation near the end with him and Martha. I could not put this book down. Started it and kept reading through to the end. Highly recommend this book.

Great read!

I finished this book for the second time today. I like it even more the second time!Sammy is a constant source of encouragement and wisdom, his words and his Scripture quotes spoke directly to my heart. While I cannot relate to Jaden's specific struggles, I can, We can, insert our individual sins and the pain it causes us and others into this book and see how God can orchestrate the bad into something good.
