Country music’s golden boy. His small-town ex. A competition neither of them saw coming.

When Cambry returns home, she never expects to become the nanny for her ex-boyfriend’s brother—especially when that ex is Kyler Holden, now a famous country star with a stunning city-girl girlfriend at his side. She tells herself she’s moved on. So has he. Everything will be fine.

But when a documentary crew arrives to film Kyler’s life, a challenge is thrown into the mix: a city vs. country showdown between Cambry and Kyler’s girlfriend, all in front of the cameras. Forced into the spotlight, Cambry is thrust back into Kyler’s world—the one she walked away from.

As competition heats up and the cameras capture every moment, Cambry begins to wonder: Did she make a mistake leaving him? And if she did… is it already too late?

If you like the heartwarming, small-town feel of Jessie Gussman and the enthralling romance of Liz Isaacson, then you'll devour the final book in this addictively moving series.

Working at the Farmhouse

This book is fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. You had me hooked from page one and I did not stop until the book was done. I loved the story line and the characters. But I really did expect a cat fight between Blake and Cammie. Here we have a story of city girl verses country girl both going for the same man. That would be Kyler Holden, city girl is Blake and country girl is Kyler's x-girlfriend,Cambry Bennett "Cammie". Kyler has gone on and become Country Music's golden boy, and he is a big star now. Cammie had gone away to college and become an elementary school teacher. She just returned home and hoped to find a job at one of the local schools. Instead she finds herself being nanny to Kyler's brother and his wife. She is pregnant and it is a high risk pregnancy so she needs help with the two kids that she already has.Everything is really going good until a documentary crew arrives to film Kyler's life and that will include his family as well. Plus we have a challenge thrown into the mix--city verses country between Cammie and Kyler's present girlfriend Blake and this all will be on camera. There are three competitions to earn the title and at the end Kyler will choose who will be the winner between Blake and Cammie. So who is going to win Kyler? How tough will the competitions be? Does Cammie stand a chance over the gorgeous movie star Blake?

Emotional, intense, fast paced second-chance romance

Working at the Farmhouse is the fifth title in the Havenwood Cowboys series. I had not read the earlier books in this series, but I didn’t feel the least bit lost in this world. All that I needed to know could be found within dialogue or narrative, so don’t hesitate to grab this emotional, well-written story, but I will be going back to the beginning of the series. There was a time when Cambry and Kyler might have had a future together, but Cambry left Kyler as she feared the past repeating itself. That fear cost her everything, and now she’s back and she’s questioning that long-ago decision. When a documentary is being filmed about Kyler, Cambry will find herself right in the spotlight as a challenge is tossed down, with little choice in refusing it. City vs Country, someone’s about to lose, and someone will get their heart’s desire.I found Working at the Farmhouse by Catelyn Meadows to be a well-written, engaging, emotional, and at times, intense second-chance romance. It’s obvious to anyone that Kyler and Cambry belong together; it just takes them time to finally figure that out. I had fun in this world and would not hesitate to recommend it to any contemporary romance reader.*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author's team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

DON’T GIVE UP ON ME

The story is part of the Havenwood Cowboy Romance Series, but I can attest that the story will read well as a stand-alone. The main location within the story will take place in Bridgewater, Idaho, a small town where everyone knows each other. It is the town where Kyler Holden and Cambry Bennett met when they were fourteen and fell in love. They even made big plans for their future, including marriage and where they would go. But, unfortunately, when school ended, Cambry also ended their relationship—something she quickly regretted. She went off to college, got her degree in early education, and has come back home. What a shock to run into Kyler, his girlfriend, Blake, and a camera crew. The story was a page-turning experience of second chances, or at least becoming reacquainted. That doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of angst, especially on Kyler’s part—after all, it was Cambry who broke up with him, saying they should date other people. The story has the good, the bad, and the self-centeredness of people. Kyler’s family is thrilled to have him back in town since he now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, because he is a country music artist. While back in Idaho, he is doing a documentary of his life, his family roots, and is supposed to be working on a new hit release song. Sharon, over the documentary, comes up with a new angle, featuring multiple contests between Blake Norman and Cambry. His present girlfriend of the one from his past—"Country mouse versus City mouse.”I enjoyed the characters and getting to know them, as well as characters from previous stories. Kyler still has some hurt from Cambry breaking up with him, but for the sake of the documentary and his career, he is willing to play along with the angle. Blake is reluctant, but the pay is good and the show is good for her career. How well will Blake do in the country setting—the one that both Kyler and Cambry grew up in? What happens when they all go to Nashville, where Cambry will be out of her element and expected to do her role, where Kyler’s new life and Blake are comfortable? Kyler must decide which of the two women holds his heart—his past with Cambry, or his present with Blake.

Working at the Farmhouse

This is a cute faith based second chance at romance book. Cambry has returned home to spend more time with her mother after completing her degree in college. She accepts a job with her ex boyfriend’s brother as a nanny. She never expected to run into Kyler Holden along with his glamorous city girlfriend and a film crew. The film crew finds out she is his ex girlfriend and proposes a challenge between the city girl and the country girl for Kyler Holden. Who will win the challenge?
