A girl running out of time. A prince determined to give her more.

When Aurora finds an injured man on the battlefield of Bela, she takes him to her hidden cottage to keep him alive. It’s her last good deed before the curse she’s known was coming sends her into a thousand year slumber.

Aurora is ready. She has nothing, no one to miss.

Until him.

Learning this man is the prince isn’t Aurora’s biggest problem, not when his touch is the first thing to bring her to life in years.

Now, when she thinks of missing the next thousand years on this earth, she wants to fight. Because, this time, she has someone to leave behind.

About the Author

I'm a USA Today Bestselling author of fantasy, contemporary romance, and romantic comedies. Fantasy was my first and forever love with the bestselling "Golden Curse". I love taking old stories and turning them around until they're almost unrecognizable except to the most avid fans. I write books to challenge myself, tackling hard topics or places so different from my own. Studying ancient cultures, architecture, and folklore is one of the best parts of being an author.I've written more than seventy stories full of magic, love, and friendship, and at thirty-three, have no plans to ever stop.

An amazing Sleeping Beauty retelling. Just wish it wasn't the last book!

This seventh and final book in M. Lynn's fairytales series is 'The True Story of Sleeping Beauty', and is tells the origin story of the curse that destroyed the kingdom of Bela, set events into motion in Gaule that we read about in the other books in the series, and built La Dame into the feared figure we see her as in those books. A standalone book with events taking place 200 years earlier than the others, it was really interesting to read what happened, and is another excellent story. The only negative for me? It's the last book in the series! I just hope the author decides to write more stories - there's so many potential fairytales out there after all! So if you love fairytales as much as I do, you'll love this series. For me, it's up there with Demelza Carlton and Melanie Karsak!

3.5 Stars Rounded up to 4; Feels more like a prologue

3.5 Stars Rounded up to 4*Read via Amazon's Kindle Unlimited Program & Rating is Subject to Change*What I liked:-Twist on the Sleeping Beauty fairy-tale & Rapunzel (big fan of retellings)-Beautiful cover-Liked most of the characters enough (didn't get emotionally attached to any of them though)Cons/What I wasn't the biggest fan of:-Would've liked more detail (i.e. more description), just to add more depth-Kind of predictable-Slow to get started-Felt more like a prologueNote: I haven't read any of the other books in the series, and despite being able to read this as a standalone, I feel it would of been better for me to have read the other books in the series before this one (Completely my fault). Also, I may reread the book because I flew through it the first time; therefore, my rating is subject to change.2nd Note: Review is also posted on Goodreads.

Decent read

I gave this 3 stars but I'm leaning more towards 3.5 stars. It took me much longer to read this one than it did Noble Thief. I'm glad I was able to read this as a standalone again.I felt that this one was a little predictable and it just wasn't really keeping my attention. Since it's a Sleeping Beauty retelling; it wasn't really hard to guess what may happen at the end. I kinda wondered if the son would have something to do with it but that's not the part I thought he would play. I liked the characters though and could understand Aurora and why she would just want to hide out in the cottage by herself. I was a bit lost on how she had a son during this and how all that worked but apparently she wasn't in that deep of a sleep. I liked Phillip and Wulfric as characters also and the rest of the group. I'm glad everyone stuck by him and Aurora and watched over them. It was interesting to see Wulfric's magic and how his magic was different but still super useful. I really do not like La Dame and her magic. I kinda wish she wasn't so involved or could just leave things alone. I didn't really except something else to happen at the end but La Dame can't leave things in peace. I also kinda wondered why they had kids if they knew about what was going to happen but they needs heirs at the same time. I'm honestly not sure if I am going to go back and read this series from the beginning.

The Six Kingdoms

I don't like to review single books of a series. I loved this series. I was unsure about reading books based on old "fairy tales" but these were wonderful. Characters with great depth, well thought-out situations. Very enjoyable.

Full Circle

This tale was gripping, just as the others from the series that I have read. I love reading a good series that comes full circle, they aren’t all pulled off well, and certainly not all retelling are done well, which again, I believe Lynn has done. The passion she poured into Aurora, Philip, & Ric’s words speaks for itself.
