What a cliff hanger!

After reading Books 1 and 2, I finally read that perfect prequel that I somehow ignored until then. It was really enjoyable-it sounded like it was written after book 1 and filled in some gaps. Book 3 starts with Elora finally waking up as a fae and to Brannick being angry at her because she made the decision to use the shard and he couldn't bear losing her. The story is pretty fast paced and we get to learn more about the different courts and other characters. What I like about the relationship between Elora and Brannick is that they understand each other without constant declarations or signs of affection. This book does not focus on their relationship, and yet it's such an big part of them that you have no doubt about their feelings for each other. Although I’m always for a little spice, it’s not really missing here. Im not sure yet what to think about the HUGE cliff hanger at the end. Hate Queen Alessandra and would have been fine if Brannick had killed her now - at least then I would be able to sleep tonight.Looking forward to book 4!

Once again words fail me upon finishing this book

Once again words fail me upon finishing this book. I just... Okay, let me try to start from the beginning. This series has seriously struck me as one of the best fae stories I've ever read. Starting with Books 1 and 2, then that perfect prequel that I didn't know existed until after book 2, and now with Book 3. Moody is a genius with developing characters and relationships that simultaneously make you swoon and curse.SPOILERS FOR BOOKS 1 AND 2 BELOW. This book starts with Elora waking up as a fae - or mostly one since she has no access to her magic. Brannick is angry at her because she made that decision and he couldn't bear losing her. What I like so much about Elora and Brannick is the way that, even though they are so, so different, they understand each other without constant declarations and signs of affection. This book does not focus on their relationship, and yet it's such an intrinsic part of who they are that you have no doubt their feelings for each other. It's so nice to read something with that kind of relationship.

Fantastic Book 3!

This one had me turning the pages almost nonstop. I read it in less than 24 hours.

It’s fun to watch Elora adjusting to who she now is. The relationship between her and Brannick has some fantastic progression in this book. (This is sweet romance that focuses more on emotion than physicality.)

There’s a lot of adventure in this one, and the ending left me on the edge of my seat. Looking forward to Book 4 in September!

Just Die Already, Alessandra

Alessandra (or should I say High Queen Alessandra) is like a bad penny. She always turns up, uninvited and unwanted. Poor Prince Brannick. It’s bad enough that the Prince’s court is cursed, but she has the audacity to torment him and Elora every chance she gets. She must be stopped, but who is powerful enough to do so? Will she ever get what’s coming to her, and will Brannick and Elora get to explore their relationship? Book 4 comes out mid September… I can’t wait to see what happens next.
