She's not the only one who will do anything to win.

Talise has one goal: escape the desolate outer ring of the continent. To do it, she must win the emperor's competition and become the next Master Shaper. But the academy is full of trials she never expected, not least of which is Aaden, a gifted rival from the privileged inner circle of the empire.

He’s arrogant, condescending, and far too observant. Every time they cross paths, the tension between them crackles with a heat that rivals her fire-shaping. He’s a distraction she can’t afford.

As the competition intensifies, a dark political conspiracy threatens to unravel the empire. Talise learns that winning isn’t just about her own survival, it may be the only thing that can save them all.

The Elements of the Crown is the stunning first book in the complete Elements of Kamdaria epic fantasy romance series. If you like rivals to lovers, elemental magic, royal intrigue, and a tantalizing slow burn, you’ll love Kay L. Moody's breathtaking world.

Shapers, scheming and alot of attitude.

I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I wasn't really sure about this book at first, it's not usually my type. After reading other books by this author I decided to try this one, I'm so glad I did. It's not about fae, but it does have magic and many incredible qualities. Book one starts off with a bit of an emotional scene, that becomes more an more intense and exciting throughout the series. The storyline is so good, it exceeded my expectations. I thought I had many things figured out in book 1, I couldn't have been more wrong. The plot had so many surprise twists, I was left speechless. The characters are so beautifully written, I was instantly drawn to them. One of my favourite characters was the emperor himself, he can come of as a bit of a cruel monster. But he has much more to him than you see, I love how complex he is. With every page I turned I was so engrossed I almost forgot to eat or sleep, good job my husband is around to reprimand me. This is a series that is both intriguing and filled with so much lore, it leaves you wanting more. The author did an amazing job creating a beautiful world, with memorable characters and a storyline that is both compelling and emotional.

A great book!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.3.75/ 5⭐️This was a good book! Since I read the synopsis I knew I would like it and even though it took me a lot more time than I thought because of life but I enjoyed it reading it. This book contains the first four books of the series in one. The world building and the magic system where so interesting to me, I love reading about elemental magic and this book wasn’t the exception. The political intrigue was good but I gotta admit that my favorite where the last 2 books in this one because of all the action the characters went through. Now to what I truly liked and did not. What I likedThe action, world building and magic systems. Some of the plot twist in this book were so incredible and I didn’t see them coming.I loved the elemental magic side of the book. I liked that they could build some beautiful things with their magic. The author was really creative with the magic aspect.I loved some of the characters growth and think that they became so amazing.I liked the side characters a lot. What I didn’t like:I wish some of the characters where more developed because I really think they would have become such good characters if the author did this.I didn’t like some of the phrases of the book.I felt like some of the characters where really childish and unlikeable. They did become better throughout the book but I still felt it was difficult to connect with them. Also I would have liked to have more development in the world building and more consequences to some actions.Overall all I liked this series and I’m exited to continue it and see hopefully how the story matures and develops more.

best of 20

My favorite book of the most recent 20 books I’ve picked up and read. Love the world, characters, adventure, and relationships. Impressed with character growth: naturally paced with good trajectory, not static. Looking forward to continuing the story in the next book!
