As iron poisoning chokes Faerie, a human healer and her terrifying dragon fight to save the land... and battle a fae warrior’s deadly prejudice.

When Faerie is poisoned by treacherous mortals, apothecary Chloe knows she’ll have to heal the land to save it. But for someone who doubts her own abilities, she’s afraid her plan will fail.

Fae warrior, Quintus, hates all mortals except her. Their disagreements on how to end the war only feed the fire between them, though his protective nature calls to something in Chloe that aches for recognition.

Of course her problems don’t end there. She also has a terrifying dragon following her around and acting like she’s its master.

But even if Quintus learns to see the difference between treachery and mortals, she still can’t fall for him. Because someday she’ll die of old age and an immortal like him never will. How could she doom the one she loves to such pain?

Dive into this epic fantasy romance filled with healing magic and an apothecary discovering her value, and watch an enemies-to-lovers bond break all the rules.

There are certain books that you take time over savoring each word and then there are books that you race through because you are sweetie asking with the adventure and you just have to know what happens next. This has elements of both. The action is pretty much non stop and you race with Chloe and Quintus as they hurtle from one emergency to another. But as they enter each court the description is so vivid that you savour the picture it conjures. The final court is painted in such broad strokes that I could almost feel my breath catch at its magnificence.Aside from the description we get to unveil more of Chloe's character and really watch her grow in confidence and strength. Her relationship with Quintus evolves slowly, building into a genuine partnership, despite his temper and impulse issues.I really enjoyed this and can't wait to find out what happens to them all.

Better than the last one

I really enjoyed this book better than the first one. Chloe finally learned how to face some of her fears and believe in herself when others didn’t want to listen. She grew and became stronger with the battle they faced. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her become a stronger version of herself and standing up for what she believes in. I’m excited to see what happens next with Chloe and Quintus and their new adventure.

Another Fantastic Installment

Another great continuation into the the land of Faerie!! Kay's world building continues with a beautiful and whimsical land. You have a clear presentation of each court, it's surroundings, and it's magic.Chloe, Quintile and their two companions continue on a journey to save Faerie from the mortals and to heal the land. Battles continue but now they have discovered something new!! A new court called Crystalfalls.Chloe has ideas of who the new ruler should be. They are lead on a scavenger hunt of sorts to recover lost or missing items. A quest for more information that is desperately needed.Their quests leads them into more dangerous situations and some of Chloe's ideas may not be what's best. While she has grown, she still shows areas where more lessons and growth are needed.
