She’s a country mouse. He’s a country music star. Opposites attract but these two have more in common than they thought.

Hattie Swan has secret dreams of being a photographer, but after her parents pass away, she’s left running the family market. Everything, including her love life, plays second fiddle. When a famous musician saunters into her store humming her favorite tune, she’s smitten. Too bad he’s out of her league.

Duke Ritchie is back home in Smuggler’s Springs to help rescue the family ranch when he runs into a beautiful woman at the local market. Even though he helps uncover crimes against the ranch likely caused by a rival family, he can’t take his mind off her. Too bad he’s heading back out on tour soon.

Everything Hattie wants seems just out of reach until Duke offers to play at the Fall Fair, which she organizes, bringing them together. Unfortunately, someone wants to see the event, and the Ritchie property, in ruins.

At the barn dance, Hattie and Duke are just one kiss away from forever, but can they have both their Texas-sized dreams and each other?

This is book 2 in the Richie Ranch Clean Cowboy Romance series. Because of a mystery subplot, the first three in the series are best read in order for a deeper, richer experience. It is a sweet, small-town, cowboy “clean and wholesome” romance that’s Christian faith-friendly without swearing or mature content and contains a happily ever after.

Lassoing the Cowboy’s Heart

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.This is the second story of the series. It can be read as a stand-alone (but I would recommend reading them in order.) There is an underlying theme of possible buried treasure and finding the clues to lead the Ritchie clan to it.Duke is the lead singer for the group C.o.w.b.o.y.s. He comes home to spend the next month with family before going on the next tour that will take him and the group to Asia for several months. He stops at the local market for a bite to eat as his parents are at a meeting. There he connects with a local girl that he went to school with, Hattie Swan. Hattie has always wanted to go to college to studying photography. She wanted to be a photojournalist and travel the world. Unfortunately for Hattie, her parents died in a car accident. She can't stand to make changes now. That causes her grief for her lost parents so she has stayed home and the market and her home have stayed the same for 10 years (falling into some disrepair.)Watching these two growing together and changing along the way in the month that Duke has home was a joy to read. This book is written in a dual POV format. That really helped to make them so humanistic. It was also nice to see the first book's couple, Parker and Amelia, make multiple appearances as well as others in the Ritchie family. This is a sweet, clean romance. There is a Christian theme throughout. If you love reading a well-written story with some mystery to it, then I would highly recommend this one.
