It has ruined her peaceful existence as an aging spinster.

Sir David Douglas, known to many as Captain Deuce the infamous smuggler, regardless of having changed his ways and made his fortune away in the Indies. His past was destined to follow him forever. Another good instalment in the saga

I have enjoyed the series which follows the trials and tribulations of these families including a variety of plots and rich characters . However I only awarded four stars as despite the author “ using English grammar “ there are several basic grammatical errors ,most notably agreement of subject and verb, which are exceedingly irritating and also incorrect French usage in earlier books in the series.

Great series

Really enjoyed the descendants series. Charlotte and David have plenty of obstacles to overcome a gripping story before their happy ending.

Action packed

This is a very good and enjoyable book. The plot is unexpectedly full of action as the story moves through to a happy ending. Elizabeth Johns is undoubtedly one of the best authors of historical romance novels.

Mystery and Romance

Definitely twists and turns within this one. The heroine is the strength of this story. While the hero started off strong, I felt his constant self depreciation rather tedious.
