She's ready to sign the divorce papers. He has one final holiday mission: winning her back

Lizzy Hamilton wants to skip Christmas this year. Between the grueling shifts of working as a nurse and the emotional drain of trying—and failing—to save her marriage, she is completely out of joy. She’s a pro at caring for others, but she desperately needs someone to look out for her, too. However, when her soon-to-be ex-husband, Staff Sergeant Mitch Hamilton, asks her to spend the holidays with him so he won’t be alone, her tender heart can’t say no. Other than his Army Ranger platoon, she’s the only family he has left.

Mitch wants only one Christmas gift—his wife. Years of frequent deployments and training exercises kept him away from home, and he was completely blind to how taken for granted Lizzy felt until she asked for a divorce. Now, he is determined to show his wife he’ll do anything to save their marriage, starting with a romantic holiday vacation to Indigo Bay. The romantic conflict is clear: Mitch must prove he can put Lizzy first, and Lizzy must decide if she can risk her battered heart one more time. The stakes are higher than any combat mission Mitch has ever faced—because if he fails, he loses Lizzy forever.

A sweet and clean romance with an inspiring lesson

I enjoyed this story and the message it gave. Relationships are never easy but in this novella Lizzie and Mitch both come to realize how much their marriage means and changes they each need to make to have the happy-ever-after they both desire. I definitely recommend this story.

Loved how this couple found the the spark to rekindle ...

Lizzy and Mitch are on the verge of divorce. Mitch makes one last-ditch effort to save his marriage by inviting Lizzy on a Christmas holiday. Accepting because she really needs a vacation and wants to remain friends with Mitch, she has no idea what he's up to. Realizing he didn't do enough to foster the marriage, he's determined to change his ways, but he also knows: it has to be Lizzy's choice. Lizzy is reticent at first, but enjoying his company and seeing the effort he's making, her heart and resolve open to a second chance. Loved how this couple found the the spark to rekindle their marriage while enjoying the spirit of Christmas.

Okay

This short novella didn’t have anything wrong with it, but also didn’t have anything carrying it-a short somewhat unbelievable plot, characters I liked but didn’t love... an okay book.
