Frustrating, But Good

The Dragon Kings Chronicles by Kimberly Loth continues with book ten and if you’ve been reading this serial/series to this point then you are not going to want to miss out on this installment. Chaos is breaking out on all fronts and the ending is going to be a major cliffhanger that will leave you raging for the next book in this series. The baby dragons have been abducted, Sid is no closer to getting them back, Liam is back in the bull’s eye concerning the issues surrounding Isa, and that fire isn’t about to cool down anytime soon. The weaving of this series/serial is a real nail-biter at times. You see the way that things are coming together and then you can’t help being on the edge of your seat as you see characters heading in opposite directions of each other. It’s so frustrating! LOL!This installment is frustrating (because of the characters being so hard-headed) but it’s so good! 5 out of 5 stars!

What's Next?

Things continue to be in turmoil all around. Liam is still in Europe with Isa, Grace is still hiding the fact that she is a wizard, Jen is forcing the dragon babies back to their "true" home, Sid is trying to hold off another war, and Damon and Ruby are at each other's throats while they try to fight their growing attraction."Leave it to Liam to go off on a dangerous mission and fall in love." Liam is determined to show his love for Isa while at the same time trying to figure out who is truly in charge. He is convinced that Isa is not the evil Queen that Jen portrayed. But, her guardians are just as determined to prove that Liam is a wizard, sent to kill Isa. Liam can't tell them the truth or he will seal Grace's fate. Meanwhile, Grace can't figure out why Jude is avoiding her. Has he discovered that she is a wizard? Or, is something else going on?"I feel like I am at odds with everyone." Isa can't decide who she can trust and who is behind the assassination attempts against her. She loves Liam, but can she trust him. Liam decides that he has to come clean and tell Isa everything. But, will that prove to be the death of him?I am enjoying these short books involving the next generation of dragons. The story moves at a fast pace, the characters are wonderful and well-developed, and you can feel the tension growing on every page. This one ends on a HUGE cliffhanger, so I've got to get on to the next book to see what happens!

Unintended Consequences

Poor Isa continues to be the target for assassination, although Liam & Grace have saved her from the most recent attempt. Liam has fallen so deeply in love with Isa that he decides to tell her the whole truth about his real reason for entering Isa's kingdom.  Maybe not the best idea... Jude is acting hot & cold towards Grace. Stateside, Ruby still doesn't want to get involved with Damon, & Obsidian is still searching for the missing dragon kids. Loth weaves these storylines like a master, each character unique & well-rounded. Can't anticipate what will happen next, & am eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Will Isa forgive him or will she end it all?

◦ I've received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ◦The 10th book from The Dragon Kings Chronicles takes us with a step closer of finding out who tries to kill Isa, and who is behind every single rumor, but things don’t go as planned. Once again Liam’s being taken to the dungeons and being a suspect in killing Isa, for the simple fact he healed way too quickly from the torture he endured from the guardians – but he can’t say the truth, otherwise he will break his promise towards Grace and that’s something he will never do.I liked getting more of Grace and Jude, their relationship develops so sweetly and so cute and they work so hard on that relationship to be a healthy one to try and talk things out even if isn’t very easy and Jude doesn’t quite knows how to do the whole relationship thing. We’re also getting to know Seamus more and how a cruel person he is, and to think he is on the Queen’s guards makes you think on a lot of things and the outcome of that.I’m not sure if there’s something I didn’t like on this book because it was short, fast paced and each character is going through a lot of turmoil since Liam is still not home, so everyone is not having a nice life, which is to be expected. A thing I didn’t quite like perhaps can be Ruby’s behavior, one moment she needs Damon, one moment she doesn’t want to give him fake hopes but when its convenient for her then Damon is a good choice – I guess its part of the fact she’s still a teenager so the teenager angsty can be felt during Damon & Ruby, Isa and Liam however between Jude and Grace there isn’t any of that, which is surprising because Grace is also young, but more mature in some ways. This serie is perfect if you’re in for a quick and fast paced read and short books. Compiled of 20 short books this story really grips you and drags you deeper and deeper into a swirl of emotions and events that keep you wanting for more. And who doesn’t love a good cliffhanger?
