Cora

I'm determined to prove to Liam that we aren't over. I need him to understand that I can handle the part of him that he revealed to me. I'm not weak.

But it doesn't seem to matter. Not to Liam.

So I'm trying to move on. Christopher, my home economics partner, seems like a good distraction.

He's sweet and kind and interested in me.

But everywhere I go, Liam seems to be there.

I'm trying to forget the one guy who stole my heart, but that seems easier said than done.

Rose

I know my parent’s death wasn’t accidental. And I won’t stop until I find answers.

I can't help the desire I have to discover the mystery of Smoky Hills forest. Even though I know it's crazy, I can’t help but wonder if there are creatures that roam our woods and I can't help but wonder if they took part in that fateful night.

The night I was made an orphan.

Determined to get answers, I start with Fullback Grayson Keller. He’s big. He’s burly. But he’s the only one who can’t seem to look me in the eye.

Even though it takes some convincing, he agrees to help—until I begin to dig a little too deep.

Suddenly, he wants to pull away. And somehow I care more about that than the answers I’ve been looking for.

Why did I let him into my life? Why did I let myself care? Why did I ever think this would end in a pretty little bow?

My obsession for answers doesn’t seem to matter. Not when Grayson leaves.

Not when it might even be my fault.

If you have always been Team Jacob, this is a series you don't want to miss!

If you love burly, lovable protectors and spunky, take-action girls, then you'll the second book in the Smoky Hills Academy series. PLUS, more chapters from Cora and Liam's point of view.

Interesting

An interesting continuation of the story. I enjoyed the new viewpoints and appreciated that the first two were still around with their input.

*I received a free preview copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review**contains spoilers*This is the continuation from The Quarterback Alpha and it picks up right where the last book left off. Liam and Grayson go to track down the wolf that attacked Liam and Cora in the woods. But the whole interaction with the other pack seemed lacking. Nothing actually happened, no answers were gotten, and Liam didn't even notice if the wolf they were looking for was there.I liked that this book cycled through Grayson, Rose, Liam. And Cora's perspectives, but it also seemed kind of random. The prose got pretty repetitive without going into detail. Everyone is always "hurting" but there's no deeper description. It seems to me that all four characters are being pretty pathetic. Cora should be mad and not so broken up about someone she just met. Rose should be furious after Grayson dumped her. The two books' events barely span the time of a week and Cora is acting like she is devastated over this "breakup" that amounted to one kiss. It just seems like the emotional tone is one dimensional. There's not enough variation, and the characters' reactions to one another don't make a lot of sense. There's an abundance of telling rather than showing. Although I felt that Grayson and Rose's characters seemed more developed than Liam and Cora's in QA. The interactions seem more genuine and realistic.I'm still puzzled why Grayson just took off with Oliver at the end. You'd think he would alert his pack/get backup before he waltzed off with the enemy. While this book did answer some questions, it still can't stand on it's own. It feels unfinished and like it's lacking depth. I'm getting a little tired of the "I just can't be with you" excuses and the random switching from obsessive stalking to cold shouldering the girls. There's not enough explanation to explain the thought process.I gave this a 3 star rating because, like QA, it had great foundations and an interesting idea for a plot, but the execution and development need a little work.

Rose and Grayson are up to Bat!!

This was the continuation of the struggles of Liam and Cora but focuses more on the history and development of the relationship of Rose and Grayson. We get more of an understanding of what we picked up in the first book of this series and to why Grayson’s reaction to Rose was weird. In addition, we are given the history of both of Rose and Grayson’s pass along with more details about his sister and the wonderful woman that took both in. Just like Liam, Grayson struggles with right and wrong actions related to human and wolf relationship along with conflicting views of the pack family he abandoned. This book in the series helps us understand the history of both Rose and Grayson but continues to leave questions as to what will happen with Liam and Cora. Yes folks, another cliff hanger!!! LolOn to Book 3!!!

Amazing!

Book 2 in this series is a great read like the 1st one was. The 2nd one was more about Rose's and grayson relationship and I've learned a lot about them. Another cliffhanger but waiting for the 3rd one will be totally worth it just like this one was. Loved it great book!
