He wants her back. She wants nothing to do with him.

To Miriam Yoder, Michael Eicher is everything she doesn’t want. Prideful, cocky, arrogant. A defector from the Amish life. Why would a gut Amish woman like Miriam even consider being his friend again? Especially after what he’d put her through—professing his affection then skipping town. She didn’t have the heart to go through that again. It was easier to keep her heart sealed up and hidden away, than to chance vulnerability. And she’d be fool to ever trust Michael again.

Michael has lived most of his youth as an irresponsible worldly young man. But when he’s forced to return home, his eyes are opened to the community he’s neglected. He’s only genuinely cared for one woman, Miriam Yoder. Will he be able to convince Miri to give him a second chance? Can this self-centered man who’d only lived for himself find something—or Someone—greater to live for?

A faith-filled story of second chances and learning what true love is, that’s sure to pull on your heartstrings.

I love the underlying fact that it is based on a Christian prospective.

I find these books easy to read and encouraging when the people in them are more interested in principles of purity.

Very superficial

This book was disappointing and superficial. The romance between the characters seemed to be based purely on physical attraction. Also, as other reviewers have pointed out, the male protagonist's sudden about-face from being a womanizer to a good, God-fearing man was far too quick to be believable. The fact that the female character was happy to jump back into a relationship with someone who had previously used and discarded her and many other women seemed pretty weak as well. I couldn't finish this one.

Heartbreaker

This was a most unusual Amish story. It was interesting and, although a year seems unlikely for such drastic changes to occur, fairly believable. The emphasis on Der Herr was just what I needed. It was not "over the top" as can be the case in many Amish stories. Well done, MS Spredemann!

Nice story

My favorite character was the grandfather. His words of wisdom were inspiring. The total plot was a bit too much for me, but made a nice story.
