Duty requires her to marry... but she’s falling for the wrong prince.

Princess Julianna dreams of marrying for love, but no one cares what she wants. The future of her kingdom—and her countrywomen—depends entirely on her arranged marriage. She fully intends to push aside her own desires and do what’s right for everyone else, until she meets her betrothed's brother, Prince Alejandro, who instantly captures her interest with his good looks and sailing skills.

Prince Alejandro wants nothing more than to relinquish his title. He’s been eagerly waiting for his older brother to marry and produce an heir so he can finally be free. That is, until he meets the beautiful princess destined to be his country’s future queen. Julianna holds the key to his freedom, yet he recognizes an irresistible kindred spirit—someone equally trapped by the heavy demands of royalty.

Knowing the royal wedding must occur for the sake of their countries doesn’t stop the powerful attraction growing between them. The stakes are impossibly high: a happy ending could be theirs, but only if they are willing to accept the monumental consequences of following their hearts. Will duty or love reign supreme?

Each book is better than the last.

Princess Julianna is set to wed Prince Enrique to serve her country. This isn't the first time she has been betrothed, but she is hoping this is the last time she is involved in an arranged marriage. All is well until she realizes the hot prince she met is Enrique's brother and the black sheep of the family.Ironically the reason Julianna agrees to go through with this wedding is for female independence...something she doesn't have. However, with Prince Alejandro she can be free riding the waves.Their love story was sweet with some angst and frustration. A sweet, quick royal romance indeed.I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.

Enjoyed this book

The Not-So-Perfect Princess by Melissa McClone is book Two in the Her Royal Duty Series. This is the story of Prince Alejandro and Princess Julianna. I have read the previous book and feel that added to my enjoyment of this book, but this can be a standalone book if you wish to do so.Julianna has a few failed engagements and her father has set her to marry Prince Enrique and if that fails he will marry her off to a regular nobleman. Which if done in her country she is more or less property of her husband so the marriage to the Prince would be the better choice of course. But then she meets Alejandro who is the brother of Enrique. They have similar interest and of course there is a strong attractions but can these two really work through all that would stop them from being together? Enjoyed their story.

Fun Royal Romance

This is Book 2 of Her Royal Duty Series by this author and can be read as a standalone. It is a clean, wholesome romance between Princess Julianna and her betrothed's brother, Prince Alejandro. These characters are likable, their connection strong, and the unconventional plot makes for a heartwarming read. It is refreshing to read the push and pull and ups and downs in their relationship. It is a sweet love story with more than enough drama, humor, and love, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Overall, it is an fun read with heart, heat and a happy ending. A great addition to the series.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
