A rebellious pastor’s daughter. A best friend who loves her faithfully from the sidelines. But is there sin that love can’t cover?

Kevin McGregor heard God tell him that Lydia Brown was the woman he would marry. But that was ten years ago. And watching her take every turn down the road away from him and her faith is slow torture.

Lydia Brown has taken just about every wrong turn she could find. When an abortion leaves her overwhelmed by guilt, she turns to drugs to escape her pain. Landing at rock bottom, Lydia is forced to reevaluate her choices.

In the depth of her downward spiral, Kevin desperately tries to convince himself - and God - that loving Lydia is a mistake. Will Lydia embrace a new start, including feelings for Kevin she’d never acknowledged until now? Or will the sins of her past keep them apart?

So good

This book is well written, gripping and solid in its inclusion of God in such a natural way. I won't spoil the ending although I'm tempted. The story may be useful someday with a friend. I do slightly question that Lydia was only tempted to back slide the once and also was not hooked up with a support group after rehab.

enjoyable story

Good book dealing with some difficult topics. Handled cleanly but without overly minimising the issues, with a focus on abortion and forgiveness. Clean, well-written Christian fiction. Will be looking our for more by the author.

Wonderful

I love reading books about Gods love for his children and how even when we run and try to do life by ourselves he has a plan. Great book! On to Book 2b

Wonderful Story

This book is deeply moving, and a wonderful story of forgiveness. One of the most difficult thing to do is to forgive yourself. Forgiving others is easier because you can usually justify that. Lydia has a lot to learn and, after making the mistake of allowing herself to believe a seducer, finding herself pregnant and having an abortion, can't forgive herself. This story is deep and insightful giving hope to every penitent as well as a very interesting read.

Wonderful Storytelling! Deep Tender Life Lessons.

There are times in life when we often make the wrong choices, and that always has a ripple effect. Lydia realized this when she made an extremely bad choice, and now she is fighting to get back the life she lost. Kevin knew many of her wrong choices and had been her friend through it all, but this last one might end their friendship.Wow! Elizabeth Maddrey doesn’t pull punches with this story. She presents an honest portrait of the messes people can make and the consequences that can happen in life. But she also brings God’s hope and love into this story.Elizabeth Maddrey is truly a gifted author. I’ve read a few of her books and series, and they always tug at my heart. She has a unique skill for blending words, and the depth of this story blew me away.It amazed me how each character had something I could identify with and take to heart. The story was exquisitely written and flowed smoothly, so smoothly that at the end, my heart was tumbling all over the place. One word of warning: you might need tissues while reading this book! The author also does a wonderful job of weaving God’s truth so that it isn’t fake; it’s real.I highly recommend you pick this book up. Now, I'm going on to find the rest of the books in this series.
