His heart is frozen. She's the sunlight he's been missing.

When Charley gets sent by her father to appraise a mansion full of antiques, she's shocked to find the owner is cold and mean, and doesn’t want anything to do with Christmas. And even worse? It’s not really an appraisal job at all. He just wants her to clean out his mountain of junk from his garage. But Charley makes it her goal to show him that Christmas is a special time of year. And as time goes on, she sees his frozen heart start to thaw.

Alexander has been dealing with the guilt from his wife’s death for two long years. It’s time to move past, so he hires someone to help rid his garage of his wife’s memories. But when she arrives, she’s not at all what he was expecting. And even though she’s a bit crazy, she helps him find his Christmas spirit once again.

Not her best work

Her other books are better. Plot ok. Characters were lacking tho. Lead male often sounded more like the 20 something female rather than a 30 year old man from old money / wealth / refined upbringing. There were better ways for the lead male to describe the lead female - other than crazy and insane when the only thing crazy about her were the socks she wore. She didn’t do anything outlandish, but he still kept coming back to calling her insane. Turn off. The personal chef also sounds more like a giddy 20 year old girl than someone who’s worked for the family since Alex was a boy.Usually I could wear Victorine’s t-shirt “I was up late reading and it’s all Victorine’s fault”, but not this time. Recommend reading her other books.

Tickles the Mr Rochester itch

Absolutely lovely story, Alexander definitely tickles that Mr Rochester itch - theres something wonderful about a loveable grouchy finding love and Christmas spirit!Charley is a confident and outspoken young woman, a great heroine and easy to love. Also contains a kitten, lots of Christmassy goodness, antiques and well developed supporting characters - with a very sweet epilogue!Totally recommended this for lovers of sweet contemporary romance...
