Don’t believe everything you hear

I really enjoyed this fast, sweet read about Jessica and Christian. Christian and Jessica are lab partners and have to work on a project together. Jess has to lie to her father, the deputy county attorney because Christian is the high school’s bad boy, that has spent time in juvie. Christian was sent to juvie because of Jessica’s father. Everything isn’t as it appears, so grab your copy and see what happens in this enjoyable read. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say don’t believe everything you hear. I’m looking forward to reading Destiny’s story, although I didn’t really like what she did to Jessica.

Not the realistic way a real bad boy story turns out

Bad boys aren't always a girls dream, but are often her father's nightmares. "Happily ever after" is not usually a bad boy's theme song. Christian's mother has an abusive boyfriend, and the boyfriend doesn't just abuse the people around him, he also abuses his authority at work. He's a cop, and Christian has been falsely arrested. Too many times girls want to believe that their hot bad boy is just misunderstood. (Nobody understands him but me.) Christian's mother is allowing her loser boyfriend to abuse her children. Not a favored romantic plot. Jessica acted stupidly, because abuse seldom turns out well. Too often you just can't get a happy ending. Change takes real courage. The story was well written but gives girls unrealistic expectations. The plot was just too worrisome and problematic to rank more stars.

Misunderstood Bad Boy

Do you believe that opposites attract? Christian and Jessica appear to be opposites in every way but cannot deny an interest and attraction especially as they start working together on a school project. I loved how Jessica realizes there is more to Christian than she believes and begins to understand his motivations. Christian is definitely misunderstood. It made him the underdog all the way through and I love to root for a good underdog. Apparently, so does Jessica who is an excellent supporter and defender of Christian once she comes to know him- despite her overprotective father! This is a fun (and quick) young adult high school age romance. Christian and Jessica are great characters and I enjoyed their story. I kind of wish it would have lasted longer!Content: some sneaking out, kissing, mention of physical abuse

My favorite YA book this year

This is really an amazing book. I just love the bad boy books. But this bad boy is actually not bad at all. He is just misunderstood Jessica’s dad is the attorney who send him to juvie for assaulting a police officer. There is a story behind that and you’ll have to read the book to get the whole truth. Really worth spending an evening reading.
