Amanda has a secret Admirer

This is another sweet YA at Rockford High. This time it's about Cole and Amanda who we have met in the other Rockford High Stories. Amanda just wants her life to count for something and she's always involved in some activity to raise awareness or funds for different organizations. Her latest one is to help save the old opera house from getting torn down. This one is very personal to her because it was a special place for her parents.Cole really likes Amanda but every time he tries to get closer to her he says something to set her off. He's hiding a secret about the opera house that might just end any idea he has of getting her to like him.As these two spend a little time together they realize they have something in common as they both have lost a parent at an early age.Maybe if Cole could find out why the opera house is so special to Amanda he can help save it from being torn down. This was such a cute story and I loved how Cole got Amanda to open up to him in a secret way.I received a copy of the book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.

Short and Sweet

Cole likes Amanda, but his father is the one tearing down the Opera House that she’s desperate to save. When Amanda stops talking to him in real life he starts sending her text messages from a secret admirer. This reminded me of a favorite movie, You’ve Got Mail. Cole knows he’s Amanda’s enemy, but he’s hoping if she can just get to know him better, maybe they’ll have a chance.I loved Amanda’s passion for her causes. She is a girl who knows what she wants and goes after it. I loved Cole’s desire to support and understand her. Their first kiss was adorable, as was the conversation after it.This was a quick, happy read that will make you smile, and maybe even want to go serve someone else.Content: clean (a few kisses, no language or violence)Part of the Rockford High series. Characters overlap, but each book can be read independently.

Opposites attract with a secret admirer

I love the Rockford High series, but I struggled with the main character, Amanda, in this one. Amanda is very passionate about her causes and fails to see other sides to the issues, which drives a wedge between her and Cole, the guy who's been crushing on her forever.

Cole comes across as more mature and light-hearted than Amanda, and he totally captured my heart. I loved the anonymous texts he sends and the way he connects with Amanda through them. I also loved the way Amanda was with this mysterious texter--how she loosened up and let go. The service aspect was great and a good way to think outside of one's self, especially when it's easy to be self-absorbed at this age.

However, this is a well-written and cute opposites attract story and I enjoyed the time I spent with these characters at Rockford High.

Content: mild romance
