Four years ago, Comfrey walked away from the high-society world she was raised in—and from the fiancé who thrived in it. Now she’s building a quiet, sustainable life on her new permaculture homestead and is certain she’s finally moved on…until Nick shows up on her doorstep and shatters her calm.

Nick never intended to cross paths with Comfrey again after she broke his heart. But when his boss—who also happens to be her father—asks him to bring her back into the family’s world, he can’t refuse. Seeing her again reminds him that his feelings never truly faded, and now he’s determined to prove they still have a future.

Comfrey isn’t sure she can trust the man she left behind…but Nick is willing to fight for their second chance. All he needs is for her to meet him halfway.

Second chance at love

This is another great book by Heather. I truly enjoy her writing style and enjoy the stories she creates as well. This is a great story about a character coming to love and accept her authentic self and then being able to expand that love and acceptance to include others. While we don’t see all of the trenches Comfrey has had to pass through to get to the point in her life where she is in this book we get enough of a glimpse at some of them to understand her. We don’t learn nearly as much about Nick, but I didn’t feel I was missing any pieces.
This is the fourth, and final, book in this series. You could read these books in any order, but I am glad I read them in order as the stories do build on each other.

Meh

I bought all of the series based on the first book which I rate at 5 stars. The 2nd, 3rd, and this the 4th book are disappointing. The typos bugged me in this one. Almost like it was in a rush to be published. I really didn't care for Comfrey and Nick. Both were spineless. Her method of dealing with overbearing parents and situations was to run away. She loves Nick but disappears for some time. Nick a contract attorney working for her parents cosmetic company was blackmailed/forced to try and get her back to Boston. Why would a lawyer do this? Surely he is good enough at his job not to be worried about being fired? There needed to be more character development. Why was her job in Boston so awful? Most of what might have been interesting was only alluded to. Pushy parents and a privileged life. Poor girl. Some in depth background would have helped. There isn't much substance here, the plot for me was pretty unbelievable. They get a HEA. But she snivels into it and frankly Nick is the better character. He should have dumped her. I skimmed through this because I paid for it. I doubt I'll buy any of this authors other books.

My Book A Day
Great addition to a great series!

First off, isn't the cover of this one just beautiful?? I love how well it matches, Comfrey, the main character from this book. This series is so great! Each of the books is well-written with great characters and plot and you can read them in any order.

Comfrey is probably my favorite main character from this series. I love the mystery she is. Comfrey isn't her real name, and she has hidden her past from the people that know her in the best way she knows how. And after seeing just where she does come from, it's not overly surprising that she left and that she's hiding it from everyone she knows. I like Comfrey just the way she is. I love the way she cares about people and wants to help them have a better life. I love the way she wants to live as natural of a life as she can. I love the way she fights for the things she cares about. And the way she was able to be honest with herself when she needed to.

Then there's Nick. Nick was a surprise to me. I liked that he was willing to go out of his comfort zone and go after Comfrey. I didn't like that it was because her parents wanted him to. But he wouldn't have gone if he wasn't still in love with her. I loved the way he was willing to change his whole life for her. So sweet! He also wasn't willing to roll over and move out of her life without a fight. He was a great character.

I love the plot of this one. It fits together with the other books in the series so well. This is such a great series, I'm hoping there are still more books to come!

Sweet romance

This was a fun read! I'm glad Comfrey finally got her happy ending. I would rate this sweet and clean, PG for kissing.
